Neither Ferrari nor Mercedes are anywhere near to challenging Red Bull for the championship at the moment. Despite that, Lewis Hamilton has made a switch to Maranello for the 2025 season. Currently, he shares cordial relations with his future teammate, Charles Leclerc. However, will it stay the same once they both start driving for Ferrari and the team develops a car capable of winning the championship? Marc Priestley believes it would be highly unlikely. The former McLaren mechanic, in an exclusive interview with The Sports Rush’s Tanish Chachra, said,

“I’ve never seen two teammates if they’re ever in a position to go for a championship, there are no tensions. It’s the nature of Formula 1. We had it with Lewis and Fernando Alonso back in 2007, when the only person stopping either of our drivers from winning the world title was the other guy on the other side of our own garage. And so they become enemies, which is such a weird concept because they’re also your teammates”.

Priestley, however, highlighted that Hamilton has served as an excellent teammate in the past. That is a trait that Priestly has observed in Leclerc as well. But there are no guarantees that the demeanor of both of them will stay the same if Ferrari can provide them with a competitive car.

According to Priestley, another factor that could play against the camaraderie between the two is the hunger for winning the championship. Priestly discussed about how desperate Hamilton is to win the record-breaking eighth world championship. At the same time, Leclerc is yet to win his first and would love to do so soon.

How can Ferrari avoid a clash between Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc?

If push comes to shove, Ferrari and Frederic Vasseur will have a situation at their hands, one that will not be easy to manage. Marc Priestley, who has firsthand seen intra-team rivalries turn into crises, believes it is going to be a tough one to handle.

He is also of the opinion that there would be no easy solution. Ferrari might have to make some unpopular decisions. For example, Lewis Hamilton faced the wrath of Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff after his infamous crash with Nico Rosberg at the 2016 Spanish GP.

To ensure that the situation at Ferrari does not go that far, Priestley suggests a transparent approach by the team towards both drivers. The 47-year-old feels if Ferrari can ensure the exact same opportunities for both drivers, with the best development path in place, there won’t be much for Hamilton and Leclerc to complain about.

Lewis Hamilton found himself battling with Lando Norris in the closing stages of the 2024 Saud Arabian GP. But despite his best efforts, he couldn’t pass the McLaren driver. This exposed a very major flaw in the Mercedes team, according to Peter Windsor.

On lap 36, Hamilton boxed for a set of soft tires and Norris followed suit on the very next lap. However, McLaren managed to overcut Hamilton and that set up an epic 12-lap showdown at the Jeddah Corniche Street Circuit. The result of the race was a bitter pill to swallow for the Brackley-based team. Hamilton, who finished P9, was being powered by a Mercedes power unit and had three DRS zones to aid his cause.

Norris, on the other hand, was in a customer McLaren that used Mercedes engines. Despite this, McLaren was able to show that they were supremely quicker than the Silver Arrows, especially in the twisty and aerodynamically demanding middle part of the lap.

Windsor explained on his YouTube channel, “It’s an embarrassing day for the factory Mercedes team to be honest. Because there they got beaten by their customer team running a setup that was the best setup for the race.”

Both the Mercedes W15s were having a tough day at the office against the McLarens. Oscar Piastri beat George Russell to P4 at the chequered flag. Also, during the opening lap, Piastri was battling with Hamilton, who once again couldn’t do much to trouble the Aussie driver.

Troubling Mercedes flaws exposed at the 2024 Saudi Arabian GP

The Saudi Arabian GP was an affair to forget for Mercedes. While they were getting dominated by McLaren, the Woking-based team wasn’t the only customer outfit who were faster than them. Aston Martin showed some strong performance too, after their underwhelming Bahrain GP two weeks ago.

Fernando Alonso had good race pace on his AMR-23, which too, was powered by a Mercedes power unit. The Spaniard took P5 as the chequered flag fell, four seconds ahead of Russell.

Despite evidently lacking straight-line speed, the AMR23 excelled where the W15 could not. Alonso could be seen pulling an ample gap to Russell during the middle part of the lap. This highlighted the Silverstone-based team’s aerodynamic superiority.

Before the Australian GP, Mercedes will be hoping for major improvements. As things stand, they are behind Ferrari, McLaren, and Aston Martin in terms of performance.

Rumors quickly arose that the couple were having marital issues, but both the model and singer have since brushed aside the speculation.

Earlier this month, Hailey notably shared a loving tribute on Instagram to celebrate her husband’s 30th birthday.

For the past two years, Max Verstappen has been an unstoppable force in F1. He has won three back to back world championship titles, with rivals finding it extremely difficult to dethrone him. However, recently the Dutchman  admitted that he was recently defeated by 4-year-old Penelope.

During a live-streaming session of his sim racing, Verstappen disclosed that he got crushed by his girlfriend Kelly Piquet’s daughter Penelope in Jenga. While speaking about this (as quoted by X), Verstappen said, “We played Jenga!”

However, later, when Verstappen’s friend inquired whether Penelope beat him, Verstappen replied, ” She did! There was nothing anymore to pull out. Like you know all the bricks were gone.”

Jenga is an excellent game for teaching young kids how to make quick decisions. The game ends when any part of the tower falls, which can happen anytime a block is shifted or removed. Interestingly, when Verstappen finished his confession, a follower on X went as far as to demand a trophy for Penelope. A fan using the handle wrote, ” Where is the trophy.”

The Kansas City Chiefs star and his friends, including manager Andre Eanes, rocked up to the National Stadium to watch the popstar perform for a second straight night on Saturday.

The 34-year-old Kelce flew to Singapore this week after his older brother Jason emotionally announced his retirement from the NFL after 13 seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles.

He kept his girlfriend close as he watched the Eagles legend hang up his cleats, wearing a friendship bracelet with her initials on.

And the tight end was spotted adorably exchanging the handmade jewelry items with her fans at the show Saturday.

Swifties – fans of the 14-time Grammy Award winner – have made it a tradition to make, wear and exchange friendship bracelets, typically crafted with ceramic, lettered, or colored beads, at the Eras Tour.

In a clip shared to social media, Kelce stops inside the stadium to gift a friendship bracelet and gives her a fist bump.

In another video, the NFL star is seen swapping the bracelets with young fans, who lean over the railings to greet him.

And it’s not just Kelce who’s been converted into a Swiftie as his friends and manager have soaked up the sold-out show too.

Eanes, who runs A&A Management and signed Kelce as the company’s second client with his brother Aaron, attended the concert and claimed he’s now a fully-fledged fan.

‘I’m 100% a Swiftie Now what an amazing performance! #ErasTour2024,’ he wrote alongside a video of Taylor performing on social media.

He also shared a photo to his Instagram story showing himself wearing a blue ‘1989’ friendship bracelet in honor of Taylor’s fifth studio album and Kelce’s Super Bowl champions cap in the background.

Saturday’s show is Swift’s last at Singapore’s National Stadium before a break for two months ahead of a lengthy run of European dates.

Following the announcement of Lewis Hamilton leaving Mercedes for Ferrari in 2025, a similar question arose in everyone’s mind. Most fans thought that the news would mean Mercedes would shift focus to George Russell and favor him over Hamilton throughout 2024. Speaking exclusively to The SportsRush’s Tanish Chachra, former F1 mechanic Marc Priestley dismissed these concerns.

Priestley claimed that the situation of favoritism shall not arise in Mercedes, given they aren’t in a state of winning. Priestley explained that intra-team battles and favoritism arise only when a team is fighting for the championship. In Mercedes’ case, they are nowhere near the front of the field, and that makes it easier for them to manage their drivers.

“I think the reality is that Mercedes probably won’t be in a position to challenge for the world title this year. And that, sort of, makes things easier. The real tensions come in when you’re really battling for that big prize.”

Apart from the non-competitiveness of Mercedes, Priestly pointed out another thing that will prevent favoritism in Russell’s favor. And that is the relationship between Toto Wolff and Lewis Hamilton. They have worked together for over a decade and share a great friendship. Given the same, there shouldn’t be an issue of favoritism within Mercedes.

Lewis Hamilton might have had the upper hand if Mercedes were competitive

Adding to his statement, Priestley said that if Mercedes was in a position to challenge for the title, Hamilton would do everything in his power to win. It would also be a great storyline for Mercedes. They are the team that helped Hamilton win six of his seven world titles. Had there been the possibility of another world championship, Hamilton would be leaving Mercedes as an eight-time world champion – the most number of championships anyone has ever won in F1 history. However, given their current performances, Priestley believes there is little chance for a turnaround.

Even if Mercedes were competitive, Priestley is certain there would be no favoritism at play in Mercedes. He claimed they are a team that does not believe in the philosophy. For Mercedes, all their drivers are equal, and they get equal opportunities to bring the best result for the team. Even in the case of Hamilton vs Wolff & Mercedes, Priestley asserts that the relationship hasn’t turned sour. They are all professional and continue to work together in harmony, irrespective of what the future holds.

Sergio Perez might be facing a world of trouble despite finishing P2 in the Saudi Arabian GP. As an F1 driver, one can accumulate penalty points for breaking rules throughout the year. Owing to the 5-second penalty he received during the race, the Mexican driver accrued one more penalty point to his tally. According to GP Blog, Perez now has eight points to his name. Should he accumulate 12 points, Perez will have to sit on the sidelines and serve a one-race suspension.

Should this happen, Liam Lawson could be the biggest beneficiary. Serving the role of Red Bull’s reserve driver, the New Zealand driver could have a shot at driving the dominant RB20. Having already driven for (formerly) AlphaTauri, driving for the senior Red Bull team would be a dream come true for Lawson.

Daniel Ricciardo could also be in the mix of drivers to replace Perez. The Honey Badger is a prime contender to take the place of Perez should there be a vacancy in Red Bull in 2025. Hence, a one-race cameo with Red Bull could act as a ‘trailer’ or a test of things to come. Furthermore, given the dominance of the RB20, Red Bull might want someone who is driving regularly in F1 to be at the helm.

Ricciardo’s Visa Cash App RB teammate Yuki Tsunoda might also be in with a shout. The 23-year-old has been a part of the junior Red Bull team since 2021 and has been waiting for a chance to drive for the senior team.

There have often been arguments that Tsunoda isn’t mature enough to handle the responsibility of a Red Bull seat. Given the same, 1-race testing could prove to be vital to gauge the Japanese driver’s chances for a full-time promotion.

The potential Sergio Perez suspension could have huge implications for Lawson

A one-race cameo for Lawson could be exactly what the New Zealander needs after his performances in 2023. The 22-year-old quickly became the talk of the town owing to his remarkable performances, even out-qualifying Max Verstappen in Singapore.

Having achieved the feat in a significantly worse car than the RB19, one can only imagine Lawson’s capabilities in equal machinery. Should he get the chance and do a good job, Lawson will further his chances of entering the F1 grid in 2025.

Ricciardo, too, would be looking forward to the one-off chance to prove to Red Bull that he is up for the challenge. In either case, Lawson is guaranteed a drive in F1. Should Ricciardo take Perez’s place in the RB20, Lawson would fill the vacancy in V-CARB. The only way to avoid the situation is for Perez to not reach 12 penalty points.

Given penalty points last a year, Perez has 15 races still to go before points reset. Hence, the Mexican driver has to ensure clean racing until the Azerbaijan GP in September.

Posting a picture of her foot covered in a bag of ice, she wrote: “Happy Valentine’s Day to me… fell over in the gym!!!”

Doting husband David also told fans what Victoria had done as he shared a picture of her laid up with a boot on her foot.

He wrote: “Apparently my wife’s little accident in the gym was a clean break…”

On March 1, 2024, Victoria was snapped stepping out with crutches as she left her hotel in Paris.

The former Spice Girl turned fashion designer was in the French capital to debut the autumn/winter 2024 collection of her eponymous clothing line.

Despite her broken foot, Victoria appeared in high spirits as she was greeted with applause during her show at the swanky Saint Germain venue.

She donned an all-black outfit while stylishly sporting a pair of black crutches.

YOU often hear people say, ‘He is a terrible fighter’ or ‘He has a glass jaw,’ or ‘I would beat him.’ I think it’s funny when they’ve never fought. Then they say stuff like: ‘I would get in the ring and fight Mike Tyson for $10 million.’ Or ‘What? Conor McGregor is getting $100 million to fight Floyd Mayweather?

I would do that!’ Yes, maybe you WOULD do that, but would you fight as a 10-year-old in an old pub in front of 300 people who want you to get beat up? Would you sacrifice your teens while all your friends are going out partying and having the time of their lives, you’re at home hungry and going to bed early because you need to be up to go running before school? Would you do that over and over again constantly for 20 years?

Because that’s what boxers do, and 99.9% of boxers don’t get $1 million for a fight.

We call these people “Keyboard Warriors” or “Armchair Warriors”. People who think they are experts simply because they listen to other people regurgitate the information. Now, thanks to social media, everyone is tough as nails behind their phone. They give fighters and just about everyone who is in the public eye a load of grief, but what they don’t realize is, at the end of the day, these people are just ordinary people too.

This was one of the hardest lessons for me as a professional boxer – getting criticism like that. I was never told I would have to deal with that. When you put your heart and soul into your craft and you get 1,000 people telling you you’re shit can ruin some people.

For myself, in one of my 10 professional fights, I fought a journeyman who I didn’t want to fight. It was going to be my first eight-round fight and I had suffered a very bad injury six weeks before the fight. I told the promoter that I was out, but he really needed me to sell tickets and said he would drop it down to six rounds.

I took the fight and did well in those six rounds, winning four of them. When I walked to the ref after the fight for him to raise my hand, he told me there were two more rounds. I got beat up in these last two rounds as I was exhausted. It was like if you imagine running a six-mile run and put everything into the last mile, only to find out you have two more miles to run. Well, I got so much abuse from keyboard warriors after this fight. It really broke my heart. At this time, I had put my life and soul into boxing from the age of 10, then when I had this fight at 26 years old, I got told by thousands of people on social media: “you’re absolutely terrible. You need to give up before you get knocked out.” This was the nicest comment I got and it really does hurt.

That did make me stronger, but it was a horrible time in my life which made me fall out of love with the sport that I had loved since I was a kid.
