Prince Harry and Meghan Markle make surprise move dubbed ‘almost beyond belief’!

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have hired a new PR executive who has a complicated history with the royal family due to her previous high-powered role

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have hired a new public relations executive who has a complicated history with the royal family, it has emerged. The Sussexes are said to have hired Emily Robinson as their new Director of Communications, who previously oversaw global publicity for The Crown from seasons three to six.

Season six of the hit Netflix drama programme aired controversial storylines that included Prince Harry wearing Nazi fancy dress, Princess Diana’s Panorama interview, and scenes depicting Diana as a ghost speaking to Queen Elizabeth II. And it seems that due to Ms Robinson’s involvement with the dramatised show, her new employment with the Sussexes has raised eyebrows.

A source told The Mail: “In the circumstances, it’s almost beyond belief that Harry and Meghan would hire someone straight from The Crown.”

Prince Harry has previously expressed support for The Crown, despite its contentious depictions of his family, as he said in a 2021 interview with James Corden: “They don’t pretend to be news. It’s fiction. But it’s loosely based on the truth. Of course, it’s not strictly accurate.”

“It gives you a rough idea about what that lifestyle, what the pressures of putting duty and service above family and everything else, what can come from that.” He added: “I’m way more comfortable with The Crown than I am seeing the stories written about my family, or my wife, or myself.”

Prince Harry has previously admitted that he has watched The Crown and “fact checked” some of their story lines(Image: zz/NDZ/STAR MAX/IPx)

During a 2023 appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Harry spoke candidly about how he feels about the show and its fictionalisation of his family. When asked by the TV host if he had ever watched the programme, Harry candidly said: “Yes, I have actually watched The Crown. The older stuff and the more recent stuff.”

Colbert then asked Harry whether he ‘fact-checked’ the show while watching. The Duke jokingly mimed as though he were taking notes, raising an eyebrow in jest – much to the delight of the audience, who erupted into laughter. He then paused before responding: “Umm… yes I do actually,” which received more fits of giggles..

Speaking to royal author Robert Hardman for his book, The Making of a King: King Charles III and the Modern Monarchy, a source said: “The Prince… rolls his eyes when people say that ‘it’s just drama’. Yet he will not give it any greater publicity by complaining. He doesn’t like the idea of being seen as a complainer all the time.”

King Charles is also thought to have stopped watching the series as began to follow his immediate family members, with a source saying the monarch found the series “too close to the bone” to be enjoyable.
Ms Robinson left her role with The Crown in April 2024, several months after the controversial season aired. A source told the Mail: “She was always very charming and supportive to [creator of The Crown] Peter Morgan and all the actors in The Crown. She is one of the breed of publicists who think that the talent can do no wrong.”

Why David Beckham deserves his knighthood – achievements in football, charity and beyond!

Football star Sir David Beckham’s long awaited knighthood has finally arrived as we take a look at all the hard work he’s put in to receiving the honour from King Charles

Sir David Beckham has waited for years for the day he can officially add the elusive title to his name. After dedicating his life to football, becoming one of England’s greats, and turning his hand to charity, he has finally been recognised for his work.

This week, he was snapped attending the King’s Foundation Awards ceremony at St James’ Palace in London – ahead of the official announcement of his long-awaited knighthood. The football star, who received an OBE for his services to football in 2003, sported an OBE badge in his lapel and a silk pocket square in his jacket pocket.

His long-awaited title will make David a Sir and his wife, Victoria Beckham, a Lady. Speaking of his achievement, Sir David said: “Growing up in East London with parents and grandparents who were so patriotic and proud to be British ,I never could have imagined I would receive such a truly humbling honour.

David has finally become a Sir(Image: Getty Images)

“To have played for and captained my country was the greatest privilege of my career and literally a boyhood dream come true. Off the pitch I have been fortunate to have the opportunity to represent Britain around the world and work with incredible organisations that are supporting communities in need and inspiring the next generation.”

He added in a statement to PA news agency: “I’m so lucky to be able to do the work that I do and I’m grateful to be recognised for work that gives me so much fulfilment. It will take a little while for the news to sink in but I’m immensely proud and it’s such an emotional moment for me to share with my family.”

As Sir David celebrates his momentous achievement, we look at the hard work he put in to get him that all-important title…

    Upbringing

Receiving a knighthood would have been more than a distant dream for David when he used to earn £10 a shift collecting glasses at Walthamstow dog track. Telling the aspiring young footballer he would go on to play for Manchester United and Real Madrid, captain England, marry a pop star and become one of the most recognisable faces on the planet, fronting global brands, might well have seemed just as far-fetched.

Born in Leytonstone, east London, David had a trial at local team Leyton Orient and also attended Tottenham’s school of excellence – but his father Ted, a staunch Manchester United fan, remained determined he would go on to play at Old Trafford.

After coming through the club’s academy as part of the famed Class of 92, David announced himself to the Premier League on the opening day of the 1996-97 season with a memorable goal from the halfway line against Wimbledon.

    Football

Despite having plenty of doubters, David answered them and more, claiming six Premier League titles and two FA Cups with Sir Alex Ferguson’s all-conquering side as well as a dramatic 1999 Champions League final victory over Bayern Munich at the Nou Camp.

International success, however, proved elusive for David as England’s so-called golden generation repeatedly came up short. In his Netflix series, Beckham, he revealed he still cannot forgive himself for the abuse his family suffered amid the fallout from his red card at the 1998 World Cup.

It came after he kicked the back of Diego Simeone’s leg during the last-16 clash against Argentina in Saint-Etienne, which left him a “mess”. A pub hung up an effigy of the midfielder, and David received a hostile reception from rival fans around the country when he returned to action for United the following season.

Amid all the hate, he went on to become an integral part of the national team. He took on the armband in 2000 for six years through two World Cup tournaments and still stands third on the all-time appearance list with 115 caps.

However, the continued glare of the spotlight off the pitch saw his relationship with Ferguson cool – a cut eye from a boot kicked by the Scot in the changing room further fuelling speculation over his future at United.

In the summer of 2003, having made almost 400 appearances for United and scoring 85 goals, a £ 25 million switch to Real Madrid followed as David became the latest Galactico signing by club president Florentino Perez. He would go on to win the LaLiga title before he departed for LA Galaxy in 2007 and collected the MLS Cup twice, spending two loan stints at AC Milan along the way.

In January 2013, Beckham returned to Europe with Paris St Germain, later announcing his decision to retire at the end of the season, when he signed off with a Ligue 1 winners’ medal.

    Charity work and beyond

David’s impact off the pitch had already long been established before eventually hanging up his boots at the age of 38. Already thinking about life after football during his time in the United States, he became a co-owner of the Inter Miami franchise.

The club entered Major League Soccer for the 2020 campaign and now boasting Lionel Messi on the teamsheet. A multi-million-pound lifetime deal with Adidas, signed in 2003, had secured his financial future away from the game.

Other lucrative, high-profile endorsements down the years have ranged from fashion designers Calvin Klein, Armani and Hugo Boss to tech giants Samsung, Haig Club whisky and Stella Artois as well as kitchen appliance manufacturer Ninja. David, who was made an OBE for services to football in 2003, has long been involved with children’s charity UNICEF, and is a co-owner of film production company Studio 99.

In 2024, David was appointed Ambassador for The King’s Foundation which works globally to create sustainable communities through placemaking projects and also transform lives through practical education programmes.

Mark Wright has apologised after sharing a post that was deemed insensitive in the wake of the Air India plane crash. He’s since deleted the post and said in a statement on his Instagram Stories that it had been a “horrendous coincidence”.

Mark, 38, and Michelle Keegan, also 38, have been sharing content on Instagram from a holiday to Spain lately. The couple, who were joined by some of his family on the trip, took their three-month-old baby Palma abroad for the first time. They are understood to have already returned to the UK and earlier today Mark is said to have shared a photo of the trio in front of a private jet at an airport. He reportedly teased over having limited leg room on standard flights in the post.

The Heart radio host is said to have been met with a backlash over the post amid the news of the Air India flight, which went down shortly after take-off from Ahmedabad. It had been bound for Gatwick Airport in London.

Mark has since apologised for the “mistake,” telling fans that he had scheduled the post, which has now been deleted, in advance. He shared a statement on his Instagram Story, in which he said it had been a “horrendous coincidence”.

He wrote: “I apologise for a post I just put up on my page after today’s heartbreaking events. I have posts from a holiday that are on the scheduled setting, which go out on future days I have set them for which was done last week.”

Mark continued the statement by saying that it was a “coincidence” that it had gone out on the same day as the Air India crash. He told fans that as soon as he realised what had happened, he “immediately” deleted the post.

He added in the message to his followers this evening: “It’s a horrendous coincidence that today’s post was on such a devastating day. Once I logged in to my Instagram and realised the post had gone out, I immediately deleted [it].”

The former TOWIE star concluded by expressing sympathy with anyone affected by the plane crash. He wrote: “My heart goes out to everyone who has been effected from today. I’m sorry for this mistake and any offence caused.”

According to the Sun, Mark had teased over not having extra leg room on the flight home from his holiday with Michelle and their daughter in the post. Seemingly teasing over them not travelling on a private plane, he’s said to have written: “1 day babe, for now we’ll take row 26 with no extra leg room.”

The outlet reports that some of his followers were quick to question the post given the news of the Air India flight. One person is said to have responded to him: “Not really appropriate to put this up after today’s plane crash.”

Another is quoted as having said: “Prob not the best day to post this when so many people lost their lives on a plane.” Whilst a third person reportedly responded to Mark’s now-deleted post at the time: “Poor taste given today’s event.”

Coronation Street Lisa’s true intentions for ‘corrupt’ Kit as star teases drama ahead!

Coronation Street actress Vicky Myers has addressed her character Lisa Swain’s real feelings about colleague and dodgy detective Kit Green after recent clashes, with drama ahead

There’s plenty more drama on the way for Coronation Street detectives Lisa Swain and Kit Green.

The pair have constantly clashed over the past few months, with Kit’s dodgy policing not exactly going down well with colleague Lisa too. But it’s been teased they could come to an understanding, and the loss of their fellow officer Craig Tinker, who was murdered, could see Lisa be more “protective” of Kit.

Actress Vicky Myers spoke exclusively to The Mirror about what’s ahead, addressing the pair’s relationship and likening it to siblings bickering. She confessed underneath it all, Lisa did care for Kit and the pair were similar, with this being why they likely clash on the job.

With fans often slamming “corrupt” detective Kit for his secret crimes and wrong ways of handling things, Vicky told us that Lisa was keen to “put Kit in line” when needed.

She revealed: “I think there’s definitely more drama ahead between them. But I think after what has happened with Tinker, Lisa really feels like she is this protector.

There’s plenty more drama on the way for Coronation Street detectives Lisa Swain and Kit Green(Image: ITV)

“She sees something in Kit that reminds her of herself but equally, she frustrates him and he does her. She knows not everything he does is above board and it doesn’t sit well with her.”

Vicky went on of them both having done things they shouldn’t in the past: “He has something on her so it all get a little bit conflicted, but underneath it all she sees him very much as a younger brother that needs putting in line every now and again.” So there’s definitely more scenes on the way for Kit and Lisa, with episodes this week certainly leaving fans wanting more.

We also asked Vicky about the looming 65th anniversary for the ITV soap, and that crossover with Emmerdale. She shared: “I’m very excited, for the crossover in particular.

“I am surprised that it’s not been done sooner or before at all. The whole thought of it is exciting. What’s gonna happen I don’t know exactly. I don’t know the story or where it will be.

Vicky told us that Lisa was keen to “put Kit in line” when needed(Image: ITV)

“There’s lots of unanswered questions but the fact it’s happening, for the cast, the crew and the viewers it is gonna be spectacular. It’s been a long time coming. What a year to celebrate that with it being our 65th!”

We also got the lowdown on all things Swarla, with Vicky hoping for more scenes between Lisa and Carla with their “extended family” and in their community. She felt “privileged” to be part of something that people could see themselves in and relate to.

She said: “It’s very much part of the community, it’s great that people can see themselves and see their family on TV. It represents them and they can relate to them and everything they have to navigate. I’m so pleased to have been able to show that. What a privilege it is that I am a part of that.”

  • Prince Harry and Meghan ‘sent message from royals with bold Trooping the Colour move’!

Prince Harry and Meghan ‘sent message from royals with bold Trooping the Colour move’!

After Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s last Trooping appearance in 2019, the royal family at large decided to send a message to the Sussexes as a response to them quitting their royal duties

The royal family sent a “significant message” to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle ahead of the annual Trooping the Colour in years past, according to a royal expert, resulting in their noticeable absence on the Buckingham Palace balcony.

Harry and Meghan last attended the monarch’s birthday celebrations in 2019, appearing on the Buckingham Palace balcony alongside other senior royals just one month after their eldest child Archie was born. In 2020, Harry and Meghan famously quit their royal duties and started a new life in California. After they relocated to Montecito, the 2020 and 2021 Trooping the Colour celebrations were stripped back due to Covid restrictions.

When the grand procession returned for 2022, Harry and Meghan were noticeably missing from the balcony line up. The following year, Prince Harry shared that “for the first time in his life”, he was not invited to attend Trooping the Colour , with only senior working royals appearing at the Palace.

The Daily Mail’s Richard Eden said in a television appearance in 2023 :“[This is] the first year of his life that Harry hasn’t been invited at all. With Harry and Meghan, we’ve always had a sort of ‘will they, won’t they’ before every big royal occasion. Well, it seems like the palace has tackled this this time by just not inviting them at all. So, you know, it’s significant.”

According to the royal expert, the royal family wished to present a united front, even after Harry and Meghan moved to America, and hoped they would still attend some of the biggest events in the royal calendar.

As Richard Eden clarified: “When Harry and Meghan quit royal duties, I think officials were very keen to stress that they would still be invited to occasions such as Trooping the Colour so the fact they haven’t been invited is very significant.”

The Sussexes were not officially invited to the 2023 event, making many wonder about their future of royal engagements(Image: Getty Images)

With the 2025 Trooping the Colour merely hours away, it is the belief of many royal experts and fans alike that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle won’t be attending this year’s celebration.

It has not been confirmed as yet by Buckingham Palace which royals will appear on the balcony for the RAF flypast, but it’s expected that only working royals will be in attendance in keeping with the tradition of the last two years, which would rule Harry and Meghan out.

The annual event of Trooping the Colour has marked the official birthday of the King or Queen for more than 260 years. The ceremony involves hundreds of horses and soldiers carrying out complex battlefield drill manoeuvres to military music. More than 1,400 soldiers, 200 horses and 400 musicians come together for the impressive display.

Prince Harry’s ‘biggest hint’ of return to royal fold leaves critics ‘utterly bewildered’!

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Duke and Duchess of Sussex, gave up public royal duties five years ago and much of what they have said and done since has shocked sources close to The Firm

A fresh indication Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could return to the public duties – the “biggest hint yet” – has reportedly left royal sources “utterly bewildered”.

Much of what the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have said and done since they quit public duties five years ago is said to have astonished members of the Royal Household. These include their accusations of racism against unnamed members of the family and Meghan’s recent posting of a video which showed her “twerking” in the maternity ward before the birth of Lillibet.

Now sources close to the Sussexes have disclosed details about passport applications for both Prince Archie, six, and four-year-old Princess Lilibet. It is thought the applications include the titles HRH (His /Her Royal Highness) as well as the surname Sussex, and this is reportedly because Harry and Meghan want their kids to decide for themselves whether they want to become working royals, or stay out of public life when they get older.

This has been seen by some insiders as “the biggest hint” the Duke and Duchess may want to return to The Firm. Richard Eden, a royal reporter with the Daily Mail, writes in today’s edition: “The suggestion gives the biggest hint yet that they’re hoping to mend fences.

“And it raises the question: Could the Sussexes, who chose to give up boring old public duties to seek their fortune in the US, stage a return to the royal fold via their children?”

The original revelation was reported in The Guardian last week. The newspaper read: “The Guardian understands that Prince Harry wants to keep the HRH titles for his children so that when they grow older they can decide for themselves whether they want to become working royals, or stay out of public life.”

Insiders have reacted with shock and scepticism, following Harry and Meghan’s exploits and bombshells since moving to the US. Mr Eden writes: “‘I find this very hard to understand,’ one royal source told me this week… ‘Harry and Meghan apparently found official duties and life within the Royal Family unbearable, yet they want this for their children. It doesn’t make sense.’

“It’s true that the Sussexes have devoted much time and energy to publicising their unhappiness with royal life. It’s hard to forget Harry’s grin on a video as he described their ‘freedom flight’ to Los Angeles when they began their American adventure in 2020.”

Meghan last week spoke about possibly running a company with her daughter, Lilibet, in the future. However, a source recently told PEOPLE that Meghan is focused on the future and is “very business about it” while Harry reportedly has “one foot in the past”.

Back in 2023, following the release of his controversial autobiography, Spare, Harry sat down for an interview with Good Morning America.

During the interview, the Duke of Sussex, 40, was asked whether he would ever return to life as a working royal.

However, the duke didn’t have high hopes for a return, confessing he didn’t think “it’s ever going to be possible”.

Continuing, Harry said: “Even if there was an agreement, or an arrangement between me and my family, there is that third party that is going to do everything they can to make sure that isn’t possible.

“Not stopping us going back, but making it unsurvivable.”

The third party the duke was seemingly hinting at was the media and/or competing royal press offices. However, he didn’t confirm.

Harry continued at the time, claiming that his late mother, Princess Diana, would be “heartbroken” by the rift between himself and Prince William.

He also claimed that the late Queen Elizabeth II hadn’t been angry with him for stepping back from working royal life.

“She knew what was going on. She knew how hard it was,” he said.

Harry added: “She never said to me that she was angry. I think she was sad it had got to that point.”

Speaking about the royal family, he said: “I can’t ever get out [of it] and I’m incredibly aware of my position. I’m incredibly grateful for the life that I’ve had and continue to live. But there’s no version of me being ever able to get out of this.”

Queen Elizabeth was left ‘fearing for disaster’ after Sussexes’ royal exit

Harry has previously claimed that the queen wasn’t angry that he’d quit life as a working royal. However, according to one royal source, the late monarch was left fearing for “disaster” following Harry and Meghan’s decision to quit working royal life.

In their statement when they made the momentous decision, the Sussexes said they would “continue to collaborate with Her Majesty The Queen, The Prince of Wales, The Duke of Cambridge and all relevant parties”.

The use of the word “collaborate” reportedly set alarm bells ringing in the palace, however.

“No one ‘collaborates’ with the Queen. This is not one of those ‘Kate Moss Top Shop tie-ups’,” a source told the Daily Mail.

“This is exactly why Queen Elizabeth knew this whole half-in, half-out version of royalty they were lobbying for was never, ever going to work,” they continued.

“Harry and Meghan were a law unto themselves from the start, pushing and pushing the envelope to their own professional and financial advantage. Her Late Majesty was nobody’s fool and knew that the chances were, it would all end in disaster.”

Royal Insider contacted Buckingham Palace and the Sussexes’ representatives for comment on that story.

Trooping the Colour: Royal family’s ‘significant message’ to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle!

The couple made their last Trooping the Colour appearance in 2022

The royal family seemingly delivered a “very significant” message to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle regarding their place within the monarchy, and it came through a noticeable absence from one of the most iconic royal traditions: Trooping the Colour.

The annual parade is held every June to mark the monarch’s official birthday.

It features over 1,400 parading soldiers, 400 musicians, and 200 horses, with the royal family making a highly anticipated appearance on the Buckingham Palace balcony for the Royal Air Force flypast.

This year’s event falls on Saturday, June 14. But once again, it appears that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be missing from the guest list.

Have Harry and Meghan Markle been snubbed for Trooping the Colour?

In 2023, for the first time in his life, Prince Harry reportedly didn’t receive an invite to attend Trooping the Colour. Royal commentator Richard Eden called this shift “very significant”.

“It’s significant, when Harry and Meghan quit royal duties, officials were very keen to stress that they would still be invited to occasions such as Trooping the Colour,” Richard said for the MailOnline‘s Palace Confidential in 2023.

“So the fact that they haven’t been invited is very significant.”

Prince Harry and Meghan officially stepped down as working royals in 2020.

While the palace initially suggested they would still be welcomed at ceremonial occasions, Trooping the Colour 2023 marked a clear change in tone. 2024 and now 2025 appear to continue that precedent.

No official confirmation has been made regarding who will appear on the balcony for the RAF flypast.

However, it seems only working royals will appear on the balcony, effectively ruling out Harry and Meghan.

Have the Sussexes attended Trooping the Colour?

Harry and Meghan’s last Trooping the Colour appearance as working royals came in 2019, shortly before stepping back from their duties.

They attended Queen Elizabeth II’s final Trooping the Colour in 2022 to celebrate her platinum jubilee. However, the couple did not appear alongside other royals on the Buckingham Palace balcony.

Harry and Meghan first met on a blind date in 2016. They married in St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle in 2018. The couple now share two children: Prince Archie, six, and Princess Lilibet, four.

While their Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan and public appearances have kept them in the spotlight, it’s increasingly clear that formal royal events are no longer part of their orbit.

So the fact that they haven’t been invited is very significant.

The royal family’s decision to draw a firm line at Trooping the Colour appears to reflect that.

Royal watchers note that King Charles’ vision for a “slimmed-down monarchy” is now taking shape.

David became an ambassador for the foundation last year. In photos from the event, he donned a tailored suit featuring his OBE badge.

The King’s Foundation responded, commenting: “Thanks so much for joining us today and presenting an award.”

Speculation has reached an all-time high after BBC Sport reported that David will be granted a knighthood in King Charles’ 2025 birthday honours list.

If confirmed, the honour would formally elevate the former England captain to Sir David Beckham. Meanwhile, his wife, Victoria Beckham, could receive the courtesy title Lady Beckham.

David is reportedly being recognised not only for his legendary football career, but also for his extensive charitable contributions.

His recent ambassadorship for The King’s Foundation focuses on giving young people greater access to nature, education and vocational skills.

“I’ve always been keen to help young people expand their horizons,” David said upon taking on the role. “I’m particularly looking forward to supporting the Foundation’s education programmes and its efforts to ensure young people have greater access to nature.”

    The King’s Foundation Awards

David Beckham wasn’t the only big name at the awards evening. The glitzy guest list included Oscar-winning actresses Meryl Streep and Kate Winslet, TV personality Penny Lancaster, and gardening legend Alan Titchmarsh.

The event was held in a red and gold room inside St James’s Palace.

In photos shared to his Instagram, David was seen posing proudly beside the king, presenting an award and sharing smiles with Streep and Winslet.

While David’s public life continues to soar, reports have emerged of tension within the Beckham family, particularly involving his eldest son, Brooklyn Beckham.

Brooklyn, married to actress Nicola Peltz-Beckham, was notably absent from recent family birthday celebration.

He also did not post any social media tributes to his parents, unlike his brothers Romeo and Cruz.

The family has not publicly addressed the alleged rift.

However, insiders suggest that a knighthood announcement could bring renewed focus on David’s role as both a global icon and family man.
