John Lennon’s son Sean Ono Lennon has gone on an online rant against Prince Harry, calling him an ‘idiot’ who deserves to be mocked.

 

Sean, 48, sparked fury among the royal’s fans when he posted a joke about his book Spare, writing: ‘My long awaited review of Prince Harry’s autobiography is two words. “Spare Me.”‘ While the musician insisted he was just making a pun out of the book’s title, he doubled down on his criticism of Harry as he was slammed on X, formerly known as Twitter.

The Oscar-winner seemed to particularly be offended by Harry sharing in his book that he treated his frostbitten penis – which he called his ‘todger’ – with his late mother’s favorite lip cream. ‘It was a pun,’ Sean said of his initially post. ‘But he deserves to be mocked after that todger episode. He’ll be fine.’ As social media users continued supporting Harry, mentioning the tragedies he has been through, Sean stood by his decision to mock the royal.

Sean said of Harry’s past: ‘That is very sad. I don’t hold any of that against him. ‘Also why I’m very disappointed with his outlook. I was hoping he’d be smarter.’ In another reply, Sean said: ‘I do empathize with him generally. But the way he whines and wangs on about things is really too much. ‘I’m just having a little fun. I think he’s earned some mockery. (I’m sure I have as well).’

 

Sean also replied to a Harry fan who defended him by suggesting that Sean was jealous of the Prince being a best-selling author ‘I mean, I don’t care but I did win an Oscar this year so…I think I’m doing okay,’ he said. The artist seemed to have a good attitude about the backlash from Harry’s fans, concluding: ‘People are coming after me because I made a joke about the title of Harry’s book.

‘It’s pretty great.’ Sean won an Oscar in March for Best Animated Short Film for War Is Over! Inspired by the Music of John & Yoko. Lennon co-wrote the film with director Dave Mullins. It came after the Duke of Sussex’s controversial memoir became the UK’s fastest-selling non-fiction book ever after being published by Penguin Random House in January 2023. Harry was understood to have clinched a $20million advance as part of a $40million four-book deal in June 2021 following a bidding war.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle delighted fans on Friday after exchanging a congratulatory kiss on the winners podium of a charity polo match in Wellington, Florida.

The duke and duchess traveled east from their home in Montecito, California, for the Royal Salute Polo Challenge at the Grand Champions Polo Club on April 12, where Harry led the Royal Salute Sentebale team to victory.

The round robin tournament was held to benefit the prince’s Sentebale charity, which he co-founded in 2006 with Prince Seeiso of Lesotho to provide support for young people in the Lesotho and Botswana, including those affected by HIV and AIDS.

Also playing in the tournament was Harry’s close polo pal Nacho Figueras, with his wife Delfina spotted on the sidelines keeping Meghan company, along with other friends of the couple, including tennis pro Serena Williams.

Uploaded to TikTok by user meghmarkle, on April 13, footage of Meghan climbing the steps of the winners podium at the event before presenting Harry with the team trophy and a kiss has gone viral, gaining over 1.5 million views on the social media site, so far.

Captioned “THAT KISS,” the video clip has received in excess of 196,000 likes and over 400 comments, many of which have praised the couple and their touching public display of affection.

“The shoulder movement before the kiss,” wrote one TikTok user.

“Awww, sweetest royal couple on the planet! My faves I love you Prince Harry and Meghan,” posted another fan, with a further comment reading: “She looks like a princess.”

Harry and Meghan’s Florida appearance came just one day after the couple announced they are working on two brand new shows for Netflix, with one based on a behind-the-scenes look at the sport of competitive polo.

“Known primarily for its aesthetic and social scene, the series will pull the curtain back on the grit and passion of the sport, capturing players and all it takes to compete at the highest level,” a press release from Archewell Productions (Harry and Meghan’s content creation business) said.

The second show will be “curated” by Meghan, with a focus on her loves of “cooking & gardening, entertaining, and friendship.”

Prince William is reportedly already planning for his future reign as king, and it seems that those plans don’t involve his estranged brother Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. The two brothers have been locked in a bitter feud for several years now.

One of the major points of contention between them was the publication of Harry’s explosive memoir, Spare, in which he claimed that William physically attacked him during a heated argument at Kensington Palace. Harry and Meghan have since stepped back from their royal roles and now live in California, pursuing projects with Netflix.

If Prince William’s plan for Harry and Meghan is anything like his plan to end homelessness or his plan to make the Middle East his ‘lifelong mission’ (whatever the that means), the Sussexes needn’t be concerned. The #PrinceOfPegging has no work ethic. Never has, never will.

A source revealed that William doesn’t see a future for the Sussexes in the Royal Family. The feeling is that allowing them back into the fold would be a bad move, and they should be resigned to the fringes indefinitely.

Despite the ongoing feud, the Royal Family recently put on a united front. King Charles, the Queen, William, and Kate attended a dazzling reception at Buckingham Palace, marking the start of the festive season.

Royal aides emphasized that it was “business as usual” for the family, despite a recent controversy regarding conversations about the color of Harry and Meghan’s son Archie’s skin.

‘I know the Duchess of Sussex has political ambitions and I’ve been told that one day she wants to run for President,’ Lady Colin claimed.

‘I think everything she is doing, leaving the royal family and moving back to California is part of her plan and she has taken Harry along with her.’

The Jamaican-born British writer, who penned the 1992 best-selling biography, Diana in Private: The Princess Nobody Knows, has a new book out on Thursday about the Duke, 35, and Duchess of Sussex, 38, titled Meghan and Harry: The Real Story.

The author has given a number of interviews about the couple in recent weeks, including one with The Sunday Times in which she said Meghan has ‘squandered’ the ‘most wonderful opportunity’ by leaving the royal family.

She also claimed the signs Meghan would ‘not adjust’ well to life as a royal were apparent shortly after her wedding to Prince Harry in May 2018.

Lady Colin told how Meghan became the hot topic of conversation at a dinner held at her house at Castle Goring, Worthing in Sussex, following a garden party for Prince Charles’ 70th birthday.

The socialite heard Meghan had apparently asked to leave after having her photo taken because she was ‘bored’.

‘We were all horrified,’ the author said. ‘It was a warning sign Meghan was not going to adjust as well as she’d hoped.’

Speaking to Australian TV network Channel Nine on Friday in which she said Meghan was the ‘driving force’ behind the decision to leave the royal family.

‘If you listen to their engagement tape they both state she’s been treated very well, she’s been welcomed with open arms and they can’t wait for her to become a working member of the royal family and she said she wanted to hit the ground running.

‘It did not work out for Meghan the way she thought it would… Meghan did not make the adjustment she should have and could have, and she is the one in my opinion [who drove the departure].’

Insiders say that Brooklyn wants to take his wife’s name after having her name and eyes tattooed on him.

“Brooklyn is head over heels for Nicola – it’s a huge sign of his commitment to her, and his love for her,” says a friend.

The couple are tying the knot at Nicola’s billionaire father’s £76m Florida estate tomorrow – watched by a host of famous pals and their families.

The Sun can reveal the couple are to have a double wedding, with two ceremonies marking the separate faiths of Nicola’s parents. One will be Catholic, a nod to mum Claudia, and the other Jewish, for her dad Nelson.

Aspiring chef Brooklyn — who has said he will wear a skullcap, or yarmulke — is also going to take Nicola’s surname as his middle name.

He was seen arriving last night — along with his parents and his little sister Harper, ten.

The star-studded bash will see Brooklyn’s brothers Romeo, 19, and Cruz, 16, acting as Best Men — while Nicola’s ice hockey-playing brother Brad has been appointed Chief Bridesmaid.

And a number of very famous faces will be on hand to celebrate with Brooklyn, 23, and Nicola, 27, afterwards.

Victoria’s Secret model Gigi Hadid is set to be in attendance after growing close to Nicola in recent years.

Nicola famously dated Gigi’s brother Anwar before meeting Brooklyn and she became good friends with the model.

Reality TV royalty Nicole Ritchie will also be joining the family to party.

Her younger sister Sofia is close mates with Nicola and is expected to also be at the wedding.

Family friends Gordon and Tana Ramsay and all of their children will also be on hand to watch them say I Do – with eldest son Jack, 22, good friends with Brooklyn.

A source previously revealed that the Beckhams were keen to have Gordon do the catering.

Unfortunately Elton John, Brooklyn’s godfather, will be on tour, during the wedding weekend and therefore won’t make it.

But other celebs in attendance will include actress Eva Longoria – who is one of Brooklyn’s mum Victoria’s best friends.

Naturally, the rest of the Spice Girls will also be in Florida for the big day, with Emma Bunton, Mel B, Melanie C and Geri Horner all invited.

Snoop Dog also previously hinted that he would be DJing at the big day, while Madonna’s son Rocco Ritchie will be there to support Brooklyn.

Reports also suggested that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry had also been invited to the nuptials by their pals David and Victoria.

The celeb guests will be asked not to take photographs and all social media will be banned from the three-day event.

The upcoming ceremony will be featured in Vogue and Nicola will be wearing a Valentino dress – shunning futuremother-in-law Victoria’s own designer range.

A source said of the big day: “Understandably Nicola and Brooklyn want the entire day to be perfect and their attention to detail is quite astonishing.

“Money is obviously no object, but nonetheless they want the day to be a celebration of love, not wealth.

“Vogue’s entertainment director Sergio Kletnoy has heavily wooed the pair and it looks like they will get the exclusive rights to the wedding.

“Vogue covered Idris Elba’s wedding and it was beautifully shot, It’ll be something like this — very tasteful.”

Loose Women star Denise Welch admits she suffered an embarrassing mishap after a trip to New York with her family last year.

The 65-year-old presenter shared that she visited the States to see her famous son Matty Healy, who is a frontman for the band The 1975, perform at Madison Square Garden. When she returned home from the star-studded event, the TV star says she was left red-faced after her husband realised there’d been stain marks on her cream trousers.

Denise laid bare the unfortunate incident in an interview with The Guardian. When asked to recall the most embarrassing moment in her life, Denise said: “S******* myself in New York last November. I was wearing cream trousers. We were going to see my son Matty and his band, the 1975, at Madison Square Garden, and I was walking through the streets, enjoying the sunshine, pretending I was in some kind of video – throwing my hat into the New York sky like Mary Tyler Moore.”

She continued: “I saw a couple of people turn and look at me. Now, although I’m not famous in New York, whenever Matty’s there I do get recognised as his mum, so I’m smiling and waving at them. I went back to the hotel room and bent over to get something out of the suitcase, and my husband said: ‘Do you realise you’ve shat yourself?’”

It comes after the TV presenter revealed that she would “never forgive” her son for missing her wedding to current husband Lincoln Townley. The former Coronation Street star explained the musician had to skip the special event because it clashed with an extremely important show.

“Matty, my Matthew, he missed my wedding to Lincoln. I remember when he called me I was doing a play. And he said ‘Mum what would you say if I told you I can’t make your wedding?’ It was 10 years ago. “And I said, ‘I would never forgive you,’ and he said, ‘Even if I was supporting the Rolling Stones at Hyde Park?’

Despite being hurt, Denise understood his dilemma and gave her blessing for Matthew to pursue the opportunity. “It hurt me, but I completely understood. It was a dilemma for both of us and it was hard. But I would have never of said ‘You’ve got to,’ because the band was [on the rise],” Denise added.

She now says the two are able to joke about the situation, expressing: “This is why it became a bit of a joke because years ago when they were just four teenagers making a lot of noise in the garage. I used to say ‘Get a job! Unless you are supporting the Rolling Stones get a job’.”

Opening up about his marriage to Denise, Lincoln said: “My most brilliant achievement was persuading Denise to marry me. I turned 40 last year and I have never met anyone like Denise, never been close to anyone like Denise, never loved anyone like I do Denise,” The couple married back in 2013 and have been together ever since.

The Loose Women host took to X, formerly known as Twitter, shortly before 9pm this evening to assure her 557k followers that she was not dead after her Wikipedia page was hijacked with the disinformation.An unknown Internet user updated Denise’s biography on the online encyclopaedia with the untrue claim that the 65-year-old had been fatally run over by a mobility scooter. Another edit to her Wikipedia profile, which has since been amended to include only accurate details, also claimed that the former EastEnders star had ‘died of explosive diarrhoea’.

Denise was quick to shut down the rumours, writing, “I’m alive and well and about to watch the jungle”, before thanking the public for their concern. The update has been met with widespread relief from her fans, many of whom replied with sweet messages after discovering it was only a false alarm. “Great to hear! I was worried for a second!” one person said, while another wrote, “How cruel some people can be! Glad you’re safe and well.”

The death hoax comes a day after Denise, who is the mother of 1975 frontman Matty Healy, revealed she’d accidentally defecated on the streets of New York while wearing cream trousers. “I saw a couple of people turn and look at me,” she told the Guardian. “Now, although I’m not famous in New York, whenever Matty’s there I do get recognised as his mum, so I’m smiling and waving at them. Elsewhere in the interview, Denise admitted she wished she could apologise to the people she hurt when she was “suffering with addiction to alcohol and cocaine.” She also credited her husband, Lincoln Townley, for getting sober with her and being her “anchor” in recovery. Denise married the millionaire artist in 2013 in the Algarve, Portugal, two years after meeting him at Soho’s Jet Black nightclub. At the time of their fairy tale wedding, Lincoln called “persuading Denise” to accept his marriage proposal his “most brilliant achievement.”

Today’s Loose Women panel of stars admitted their fears for I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! contestant Nella Rose amid a barrage of online abuse aimed at the young YouTube.

The four women on the ITV panel today mused how famous women often have a tougher time on reality TV shows and highlighted some of the cruel comments being directed towards Nella on social media.

Nella, who was the victim of an “insensitive” Moonpig card stunt last week, angered many I’m A Celebrity viewers at the start of this year’s series of the ITV show, thanks to a misunderstanding with First Dates star Fred Sirieix. However, many of the Catfish presenter’s fans have since argued it’s time to give the young star a break.

Christine Lampard, Brenda Edwards, Judi Love and Jane Moore opened today’s edition of Loose Women with a discussion about Nella and women on reality TV in general, with a recent article arguing female contestants often have a tougher time on shows like I’m A Celebrity brought up.

Kicking off the chat, former X Factor star Brenda recalled her own time on a popular reality TV show and revealed she was often asked why people “don’t vote for women, older women and even Black women” on talent shows – noting she fell into all three categories during her time competing on the now-defunct singing competition.

“I think women do find it hard and Nella will have factors that make it even harder,” Judi added to the debate. “From what I’ve seen online, the fat-shaming, women have issues if they’re older and another layer [for Nella] is race. Unfortunately it looks like Nella won’t be given as much grace as other women.”

Judi continued: “So of the stuff we’ve seen on the internet and on social media is absolutely vile. From talking about her skin complexion to her shape, saying they gave her the easiest Bushtucker Trial, so yes, it does feel like there was an issue at the beginning between her and Fred and how she handled that – many of feel that wasn’t the right way – but people need to understand with any women that go [on these shows] there are other layers to their personality.

The panel discussed the fact Nella has suffered major losses and grief at such a young age, with Christine admitting she’s been loving watching Nella in the camp over recent days. Jane added she saw Nella as her winner after the first couple of episodes of this year’s series of I’m A Celebrity, with the entire panel in agreement that they worry about how Nella will feel when she leaves the jungle and reads some of the hateful comments written about her online.

Nella’s fans rejoiced over the weekend as the YouTuber avoided being the first celebrity to be voted out of camp by the public, with jockey Frankie Dettori being the one sent home early following hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly delivering the news to the star-studded camp. Some of Nella’s fans predict the tide is turning for the young star and she could survive longer than expected thanks to her loyal fanbase.
