King Charles ‘could evict Prince Andrew from Royal Lodge’ over worrying photos

Prince Andrew could be kicked out of Royal Lodge by King Charles if he lets the Windsor home fall into severe disrepair, a property expert has warned.

Pictures of the building have surfaced showing its exterior in a sorry state, with visible mould, dodgy repair jobs and worrying structural cracks.

The Duke of York, who’s been living it up at the property with his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson since 2003 on a 75-year lease, might now have to cough up an extra £400,000 for maintenance after King Charles reportedly axed his £1million annual handout, The Sun reports.

Terry Fisher from We Buy Any Home reckons that while kicking Andrew out is “an unlikely and extreme outcome”, it’s not off the table if he doesn’t keep up his end of the bargain.

He explained: “The lease for Royal Lodge reportedly includes maintenance responsibilities, especially given the property’s historic status. The Crown Estate would have a vested interest in ensuring that Royal Lodge remains in good condition and failing to maintain the estate could give them grounds to review or even terminate the lease if it becomes a preservation risk.

“In the case of severe neglect, the Crown Estate could argue that Andrew has breached the lease terms, leading to a formal review.”

This could mean anything from a tougher lease agreement to Prince Andrew being told to pack his bags, reports the Express.

Terry has suggested that eviction “would likely be a last resort especially as it could be politically sensitive, but it’s a measure that may be pursued in a bid to protect the estate, if his inability to maintain it becomes evident over time”.

He also pointed out that lease agreements often include inspection clauses which could allow the Estate to intervene early and assess the condition of the property, taking action to prevent further decay.

Terry also expressed concern for Andrew’s well-being, given the state of the Lodge revealed in recent photos. He warned: “If Andrew doesn’t tackle the visible mould and structural cracks soon, it could have far-reaching effects. For one, if left untreated, damp and mould can lead to more serious health hazards and even impact the liveability of certain areas.

“Structural issues, if allowed to worsen, might also raise questions from the Crown Estate about his stewardship of the property.”

Gov.uk highlights the health risks associated with damp and mould in homes, which can produce allergens, irritants, and toxins. Healthline also cautions that exposure to mould spores can trigger allergy-like symptoms such as a runny nose and congestion, eye irritation, sneezing, and lung irritation.

Members of the royal family have captured the eyes and imagination of the world for decades. Royal onlookers crane their necks outside of Buckingham Palace, track royal social media accounts, and scour the internet for photos and nuggets of information that give a glimpse inside regal life. While on the surface, it might appear that kings, queens, princes, and princesses, are all about diamond-encrusted tiaras, proper etiquette, and world affairs, there’s a lot more behind the curtain. In a delightful treat, Mike Tindall peeled back some of the layers when he invited Prince William and Princess Kate onto his podcast, The Good, the Bad & the Rugby, last year. Now, he reveals there was even more candidness to be gleaned from the uncut interview.

The husband to Princess Anne’s daughter Zara Tindall released a book today titled, The Good, the Bad & the Rugby  Unleashed, a project he co-wrote with his podcast co-hosts Alex Payne and James Haskell. In it, he opens up about the September 2023 podcast episode in which he hosted Anne, William, and Kate at Windsor Castle.

“I think the podcast humanized them a little bit, and I kind of wish they’d let us put the uncut version out, because it would have blown the public away,” Mike wrote of the Prince and Princess of Wales.

He continued: “They came across as down-to-earth, fully engaged, funny and knowledgeable. It was a far more enlightening chat than I expected, not because I thought they’d be dull (I already knew that they weren’t) but because I know how everything to do with the royal family is so carefully controlled.”

Although Mike is not a working royal family member, he is quite familiar with and knowledgeable about the private inner workings of the family. He shares, per the Daily Mail, that the experience is nothing like Downton Abbey.

He explained, they “are a very close family who loved each other dearly.” He even fondly described laidback picnic lunches and watching television with Queen Elizabeth II, not meals at long tables with everyone dressed in their best.

“Zara and I would often watch the racing with her [Queen Elizabeth] on TV, as I’m sure lots of people reading this have done with their Gran,” Mike said. “Lunches were also relaxed, especially up in Scotland, where lunch would often be heading out into the open space of the Scottish Highlands for a picnic.”

Mike recalls a photo of the late Prince Philip with his daughter Mia sharing a meal outside a log cabin as a quintessential example. “That [photo] captures exactly what those afternoons were like: members of a very close family who loved each other dearly spending precious time together.”

The former rugby player also remembered his personal bond with Elizabeth, whom he met when he was 13 years old at his school in Yorkshire in 1992. He says he thinks he might’ve manifested his romantic future at the time.

“[I’m] not entirely sure whether I said to her then that I would marry Zara,” Mike said. “It might have come out my mouth. I’m not entirely sure.” He also added that the late monarch liked “normal people.”

Princess Anne, the hardest-working member of the royal family, recently made an appearance at a gala dinner supporting the Eric Liddell 100, which celebrates the life and times of the Scottish athlete and his historic performance at the 1924 Olympic Games. While her vintage dress may have gotten the majority of the spotlight—the Princess Royal wore a Frank Usher dress from the 1960s—her sapphire-and-pearl brooch was a touching tribute to the late Queen Elizabeth.

According to experts from U.K. retailer Steven Stone, Anne wore one of Elizabeth’s favorite pieces. The piece first entered the royal collection in 1866, when Alexandra, Princess of Wales at the time, purchased it as a wedding present for her sister, Empress Maria Feodorovna. Later, Queen Mary acquired the brooch and it was passed down to Queen Elizabeth and now, Anne.

The brooch features a sapphire surrounded by two rows of diamonds and a distinctive drop-pearl embellishment.

“The eye-catching piece features a sugarloaf cabochon sapphire encircled by two rows of diamonds and has a removable pearl droplet that hangs delicately underneath,” jewelry expert Maxwell Stone explained. “The incredible sapphire and intricate diamond detailing would give this piece an estimated value of over £500,000 [approximately $648,880].”

Stone expanded on the piece’s history and mentioned that Queen Elizabeth wore it on some of her most memorable royal tours.

“It’s heartwarming to see Princess Anne paying tribute to her late mother through her jewelry—particularly such a historic piece. The brooch originally belonged to Empress Maria Feodorovna and was reportedly bought by Queen Mary,” Stone added. “When Queen Elizabeth II inherited the throne, her grandmother’s brooch was passed down to her and she wore it multiple times over the years—making it one of the most popular pieces from the late monarch’s brooch collection.”

Anne is a patron of the Eric Liddell 100 and at this year’s event, she presented an award while wearing the dramatic backless dress. The organization works to inspire young people to make a “positive impact on their community” and celebrate Liddell’s legacy, values, and integrity.

Prince William reveals he’s had the ‘hardest year in my life’ following Kate and King Charles cancer diagnoses during Cape Town visit

Prince William has opened up about having the ‘hardest year in my life’ following his wife and father’s cancer diagnoses.

In a remarkably candid – and at times emotional – interview at the end of his official visit to South Africa he admitted the past few months had been ‘brutal’.

But the prince also said how hugely ‘proud’ he was of Catherine and the King for handling their health battles with such dignity and bravery.

He added that the Princess of Wales was now ‘doing well’.

Speaking in Cape Town yesterday, the future king covered everything from his much-discussed beard – which apparently had his daughter, Princess Charlotte, in floods of tears when she first saw it – to his passion for ‘meaningful’ royal work such as his landmark Earthshot Prize environmental awards.

According to Prince William (pictured with wife Catherine) he has experience the hardest year of his life

The Prince said his year has been 'dreadful' adding: 'It’s probably been the hardest year in my life. So, trying to get through everything else and keep everything on track has been really difficult.' But it is was his response to how the past year had been for him as a husband, father and son that will move people most.

Slightly sighing and lowering his voice, he said: ‘Honestly? It’s been dreadful. It’s probably been the hardest year in my life. So, trying to get through everything else and keep everything on track has been really difficult.

‘But I’m so proud of my wife, I’m proud of my father, for handling the things that they have done.

‘But from a personal family point of view, it’s been, yeah, it’s been brutal.’

Asked how is the princess is ‘getting on’, he smiled and said: ‘She’s doing well. Doing well.’

William added of his relaxed demeanour in Cape Town this week: ‘It’s interesting you say that, because I couldn’t be less relaxed this year, so it’s very interesting you’re all seeing that.’

Earlier this week he praised Kate, who was diagnosed with an undisclosed form of cancer in February and underwent a course of ‘preventative chemotherapy’, as having ‘been amazing this whole year’.

She recently revealed that she has finished her chemotherapy treatment.

His father, King Charles, was diagnosed with cancer following routine prostate surgery in January – although the two are not said to be connected – and is still undergoing weekly treatment but has pleased doctors with his progress.

William, 42, made clear that he intends to continue to plough a different furrow when it comes to his royal role and duties than that of this father and grandmother, for the time being at least.

He admitted that he doesn’t necessarily like the extra responsibility that comes with his still relatively new role as Prince of Wales, but admits that it has given him the time and freedom to build huge global initiatives such as the Earthshot Prize and the chance to afford ‘meaningful’ change.

‘You mention the added responsibility and the freedom in the same sentence,’ he laughed.

‘It’s a tricky one. Do I like more responsibility? No.

‘Do I like the freedom that I can build something like Earthshot then yes.

‘And that’s the future for me. It’s very important with my role and my platform, that I’m doing something for good. That I’m helping people’s lives and I’m doing something that is genuinely meaningful.’

William was speaking at a ‘seaweed innovator showcase’ where he picked up a pair of earrings made from ‘beach cast kelp’ to take home for his wife.

He sported a a blue blazer that he had sourced from a local vintage store in London as part of his effort to wear as many recycled or sustainable items of clothing as possible during the week.

He says what many people don’t realise – or even want to realise – is how much work it takes behind the scenes to bring such a massive global initiative together outside of the day-to-day public engagements he is seen on.

‘So, the Earthshot is a culmination if you like of all that put together. But it takes a lot of work, and there’s a lot of unseen stuff that goes on, a lot of meetings, a lot of people coming in, a lot of chatting and phone calls, letters, all trying to sort of make the Earthshot get to being the best possible entity it can be,’ he said.

The prince’s ‘green Oscars‘ were born out of his frustration at the ‘global pessimism’ around climate change and the environmental crisis.

He decided the best way to combat this was to help develop the most inspirational solutions to the biggest problems facing mankind.

Every year for a decade five winners will each receive a £1 million in prize money and mentoring to scale up their ideas.

This year’s entrants have included everything from a firm making trainers from biodegradable material to a new technology capturing waste heat and turning it into electricity.

William admitted he can get frustrated at the slowness of getting people on board but feels that at last, four years in, he’s finally seeing results.

‘I’d like it to be more a team sport,’ he said.

‘And so, when you go and approach people…business…or even government…and say, listen, we’re building this incredible thing. Please come on board. Some people are extremely fast and keen to it. Others take a little bit longer and it’s those people who take a little bit longer, I’m like, guys, we just don’t have the time.

‘So, yes, I get a bit frustrated that it takes a long time to convince people that this is worthy of their attention. But I guess that’s the nature of a global environment prize you do, you start from scratch and it’s going to take a bit of time.’

But added that he was ‘really pleased’ with the progress they had made so far and was ‘really thrilled’ with Wednesday’s live-streamed awards ceremony.

A source told the outlet : “Diana remains a prominent force in Harry’s life and as a result, Meghan’s. So much of his work is inspired by his mum, and it’s evident how much she still means to him. A gift to his wife that once belonged to his mother is incredibly meaningful and that isn’t lost on his wife.”

However, the cross necklace is thought to have sparked intrigue as Diana wasn’t known for wearing religious motifs, so it’s thought this piece could be a rarely worn find from the late Princess of Wales ‘ collection. Diana, who died aged 37 in August 1997, was never pictured wearing the piece of jewellery in public.

    Meghan Markle
Meghan also wore the diamond Cartier tennis bracelet during her tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021
Yet the necklace is just one of many of Diana’s pieces that Meghan has been spotted in. On her wedding day six years ago, Meghan paired her evening bridal look with a piece of jewellery previously owned by her late mother-in-law. Meghan opted to accessorise her outfit with an aquamarine cocktail ring, thought to be a gift from Prince Harry to his new bride. The stunning Asprey Emerald cut aquamarine ring, surrounded by small solitaire diamonds and set in 24-carat yellow gold, was pictured on Diana in the final year before her death in 1997. on her right hand at her evening reception.

At another royal event alongside husband Prince Harry, Meghan chose to accessorise a red grown with a diamond tennis bracelet thought to be worth £17k. The diamond tennis bracelet by Cartier, which was previously owned by Diana, has been sported by Meghan on numerous occasions, including during her tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021. Meghan first wore the elegant jewellery during a state dinner in Fiji in 2018 and to observe Commonwealth Day in 2019. She has paired it with various outfits since.

Another Cartier piece, Princess Diana regularly wore a gold Cartier Tank Française watch for engagements in the 1990s. The watch gifted to her by her father on her 21st birthday, was believed to have been given to Meghan by her now-husband Harry in the early days of their relationship.

In 2018 during their royal tour of Australia, Meghan wore butterfly earrings which were a notable favourite of Diana’s. The pieces were thought to be a gift from Harry to mark their happy baby news after they announced they were expecting their son Archie. The Duchess paired the earrings with a gold bangle, which is also believed to come from Diana’s collection.

    Meghan Markle
Meghan Markle may have missed out on Diana’s engagement ring, which was given to Princess Kate, but her ring is thought to have subtle nods to Diana too

Meanwhile, Princess Kate has Diana’s engagement ring, a 12-carat blue oval sapphire, surrounded by 14 solitaire diamonds, set on a white-gold band of 18 carats. The stunning ring was gifted to her by Prince William when they became engaged in 2010. However, Meghan’s engagement ring from Harry is thought to have a subtle nod to Diana too. Meghan’s ring features two diamonds from Diana’s collection and another from Botswana, where Harry does a lot of charity work. In recent years, Meghan is thought to have ‘upgraded’ her ring with changes such as replacing the yellow gold band with a delicate diamond-studded band instead.

Prince William hires key member of David Beckham’s staff in another blow to Harry and Meghan

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have faced another setback as Prince William has enlisted a high-profile aide from David and Victoria Beckham’s crew, leading to potential new tensions within the royal family. Once chummy with the Beckhams — Victoria was even spotted at their grand 2018 wedding — it appears the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s rapport with the power couple has turned somewhat chilly.

Meanwhile, David’s burgeoning bond with the future king has led to William bringing on board Victoria Shires, previously David’s Head of PR for DB Ventures, as a communications ace for his Homewards campaign. This Royal Foundation initiative is driven by the ambition to tackle homelessness.

Shires officially joined team William in October and expressed her enthusiasm to the Mail, commenting, “It’s been a great first few weeks at the Royal Foundation of the Prince and Princess of Wales.”

Commenting on her new role and the prince’s latest ITV documentary on homelessness, she stated, “It’s been lovely to have launching that as my first project here.”

The camaraderie between the Beckhams and the Waleses was clear last month when David supported the prince at an event celebrating the $16m raised for London Air Ambulance, where William and David were all smiles, sharing laughs during the affair, reports the Express.Prince Harry and Meghan's latest blow comes at the hands of William

David Beckham’s eldest son, Brooklyn, recently appeared on Watch What Happens Live and was asked by host Andy Cohen about his interactions with the royal family. Andy asked Brooklyn: “Jennifer B wants to know, Brooklyn, growing up, which members of the foyal family did you see the most often? Especially since your family is friends with Harry and Meghan.”

Brooklyn sidestepped the mention of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, responding: “Probably William.”

“He’s just the sweetest guy ever. He really is. He’s really down to earth, he’s a really good guy.”

Romeo Beckham looks practically identical to dad David after dyeing his hair platinum blonde — and the former soccer star couldn’t help but troll him about it!

Romeo, 18, has rocked long, flowing golden blonde hair for quite some time. But he just recently buzzed it off and bleached it to an icier shade reminiscent of the platinum hue his dad David, 46, had in the 2000s.

The budding model debuted the bright blonde switch-up on Instagram and thanked colorist Josh Wood for the look. “Here’s to expressing yourself through colour & a transformational cut ,” Wood wrote.

Romeo’s mom Victoria Beckham gave the style her stamp of approval. “Wow!!!! Love!!!!” she wrote on her son’s post.

Romeo shared another photo of his fresh hairstyle and David left a lighthearted comment about his son’s inspiration for the cut and color.

“Nice hair  @romeobeckham,” David said. “I wonder where u got that idea from .”

Nowadays David is sporting a slightly longer style in his natural brown color, but rocked the blonde hue in 2008 (pictured above).

Fans spotted the resemblance right away. “@davidbeckham Beckham, I can tell he has surely copied this hair from you. Beckham you had the best hairstyles ever, and you still have. This hairstyle was when you joined the LA Galaxy in 2007, Beckham, so amazing!!!!! #Beckham ,” one person commented. Someone else wrote, “@davidbeckham Like his dad in the 90’s/00s .”

Romeo has started to make his own mark on the fashion industry as he’s grown up, most notably landing his first magazine cover for L’Uomo Vogue‘s Generation Issue in January. And he’s gotten nothing but support from his famous family.

“incredible!! ,” said Romeo’s soon-to-be sister-in-law Nicola Peltz, who got engaged to the model’s older brother Brooklyn Beckham, 22, in July 2020.

David posted the magazine cover on his own Instagram feed and congratulated his son on the accomplishment. He wrote: “So proud of you @romeobeckham  What an incredible first cover for @luomovogue.”

Princess Charlotte ‘in floods of tears’ after seeing Prince William’s beard

Princess Charlotte isn’t a fan of Prince William’s beard.

It’s been one of the biggest talking points of recent weeks: does William’s beard rock or is it a royal disaster?

According to the prince, his daughter, Princess Charlotte was firmly in the latter camp – bursting into tears when she saw it earlier in the summer.

In fact the nine-year-old was so upset that he decided to shave it off. But then he decided to try and win her round.Asked whether his beard was going to stay and if his wife and family liked it, William laughed, saying: ‘The beard! Well Charlotte didn’t like it the first time.

‘I got floods of tears the first time I grew a beard, so I had to shave it off. And then I grew it back. I thought, hang on a second and I convinced her it was going to be okay.’

The late Queen famously didn’t like hirsute male family members so when Prince PhilipPrince Charles and Princes William grew beards while abroad with the Royal Navy, they all had to quickly shave them off on their return.

It¿s been one of the biggest talking points of recent weeks: does William¿s beard rock or is it a royal disaster?

Princess Charlotte was so upset that he decided to shave it off. But then he decided to try and win her roundIt comes as the Prince of Wales opened up about having the ‘hardest year in my life’ following his wife and father’s cancer diagnoses.

Speaking in Cape Town yesterday, the future king covered everything from his much-discussed beard to his passion for ‘meaningful’ royal work such as his landmark Earthshot Prize environmental awards.

But it is was his response to how the past year had been for him as a husband, father and son that will move people most.

Three people have been charged in connection to One Direction star Liam Payne’s death in Buenos Aires, Argentina, last month, prosecutors have revealed in a lengthy statement

Liam Payne's death is under investigation

Liam Payne’s death is under investigation

Three people have been charged in connection to Liam Payne’s death last month, and prosecutors have confirmed the lengthy sentence they could face.

It was confirmed on Thursday that three suspects are now under formal investigation following the One Direction man’s death in Argentina on October 16. The prosecutors revealed in a lengthy statement that, if found guilty, the crimes were punishable by a prison sentence of up to 15 years on conviction. They also confirmed one of the suspects included a hotel worker.

The statement, which was the third by prosecutors since the tragedy, explained the in-depth investigation they had been carrying out and seemingly ruled out suicide as a cause of death. In their statement, which has been translated into English, they said: “In the state he was in, he did not know what he was doing and could not understand it.”

In their comment, prosecutors said: “From the beginning of the investigation and within a few days, exhaustive and meticulous actions and measures were carried out to clarify the circumstances surrounding the death of the artist. In this sense, several dozen statements were received at the headquarters of the Public Prosecutor’s Office including the testimonies of hotel staff, family and friends and medical professionals.”

It went on to say they had analysed more than 800 hours of video footage from various security cameras in the hotel and others in the street. It’s thought Liam’s dad, Geoff, was informed of the three charges in person. He had been in the country in the weeks following Liam’s passing, before the star’s body was allowed to be flown back to the UK.

Prosecutors said one of the accused had been accompanying the star on a daily basis while he was in Argentina, while another was an employee at the Casa Sur Palermo hotel where Payne was staying. The third person allegedly supplied drugs. It’s thought there have been a total of nine raids ordered on properties in Buenos Aires so far and the investigation continues with some of Payne’s devices still being analysed.

In the wake of the tragedy, a petition was launched by fans of the singer calling for legislation to protect the mental health of artists in the entertainment industry. The petition, which was launched on Change.org by a fan of the late dad-of-one, seeks to “implore lawmakers to create legislation safeguarding the mental health of artists within the industry”.

To date, over 134,000 people have signed the online document which calls for “Liam’s Law”. The law would necessitate “regular mental health check-ups, adequate rest periods and the presence of mental health professionals on-set, including any ongoing support during their career”. Liam had previously opened up about his struggles with alcoholism at the peak of his success. In a chat with The Diary Of A CEO podcast host Steven Bartlett he described hitting “rock bottom” before saying in 2023 that he was sober after going into rehab.

Liam is survived by his seven-year-old son Bear Payne.
