Blake Shelton shared a laugh with one of Gwen Stefani’s sons as they posed for a family picture at her Hollywood Walk of Fame star ceremony.

In a video from the special event captured by PEOPLE, the country crooner, stepfather to his singer wife’s three children — Apollo, 9, Zuma, 15, and Kingston, 17 — performed a subtle, playful prank.

Standing next to Zuma, he moves his hand from the teen’s shoulder to stick his finger by his ear, causing him to laugh and shrug the feeling away. Shelton, 47, laughed at the moment as they continued to be photographed.

Stefani shares her three boys with ex-husband Gavin Rossdale.

Speaking with PEOPLE last month, Stefani reflected on her rise to fame in the late ’90s and 2000s, sharing that her experience was bittersweet.

“I took Kingston on a world tour [when he was 9 months old]. We did 120 shows. I would have to nurse him and then get on stage, and then come off and he would twirl my ponytail,” she recalled.

“If I could say I regretted something, I would say that I wish that I could have divided it because that time is so precious. That’s when things got really hard for me emotionally because you just don’t want to miss anything,” continued the singer, “But at the same time, you also don’t want to let go of this momentum.”

Speaking with PEOPLE last December, Shelton opened up about prioritizing family over career in this chapter of his life.

“If I walked away from my career at this time, the only thing that I run the risk of is having regrets that I’m missing out on some more important things in life. For now, that’s our kids. This isn’t about me anymore and never will be again,” he shared.

“Even though I’m a stepparent, I take that job very seriously. The kids see me as a very important person in their life,” he continued. “[When they ask,] ‘Why isn’t Blake here?’ I take that stuff to heart. I’ve made plenty of money, but you can’t buy time back. I don’t want any regrets.”
