Meghan Markle and Prince Harry accused of ‘insulting’ UK after using royal suite

The Windsor Suite is often used by Prince William and Princess Kate, and also hosts world leaders.

Harry and Meghan reportedly used a suite often used by royals

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are facing criticism for using the VIP Windsor Suite at Heathrow, often used by royals, world leaders and A-listers.

The Duchess of Sussex spent a short time in the UK last week before heading to Nigeria with Prince Harry, who had been in Britain for an Invictus Games event.

The return to the UK was Meghan’s first time in the country for 20 months.

But Angela Levin, a royal author and commentator has criticised the Sussexes for using the Windsor VIP Suite at Heathrow Airport, despite the fact they left the Firm in 2020.

Appearing on GB News, Ms Levin was asked by host Isabel Webster: “She stepped foot into the UK, but only into Windsor Suite of Heathrow Airport, which is reserved for royals, which she technically isn’t.”

“She wouldn’t even step outside of the Windsor Suite to come and meet Harry in London.

“Having been married in this country and welcomed into our premier family, it’s very insulting, isn’t it?”

Ms Levin responded: “Yes, it’s very insulting to us.

“I think that she doesn’t mind. She didn’t come for the Coronation either.”

Harry and Meghan toured Nigeria in recent days, aiming to raise awareness about mental health and encourage young people to take part in sport.

At one event, in the Nigerian capital of Abuja, Meghan spoke about a DNA test she had taken that showed she was “43 percent Nigerian.”

Meghan said: “Never in a million years would I understand it as much as I do now.

“And what has been echoed so much in the past day is, ‘Oh, we are not so surprised when we found out you are Nigerian’.

“It is a compliment to you because what they define as a Nigerian woman is brave, resilient, courageous, beautiful.”
