Liam Payne ‘regrets’ what he said about son Bear and ex Cheryl as he makes big change

Liam Payne has decided to make a big change in his life and has vowed to put his son Bear first, after admitting that he hasn’t always been the best dad to the youngster

Liam Payne is set to make a big change in his life.

The 30-year old pop star is aiming to turn over a new leaf and has decided to prioritise fatherhood at a turning point in his life after overcoming past struggles with mental and physical health issues and enduring a brief stint in rehab. In the past, the former One Direction star confessed that becoming a father had ruined his relationship with his ex-partner Cheryl.

He admitted that due to his globe-trotting career, it was not uncommon for him to be frequently absent from their son Bear’s life. Now, he is reportedly planning on dedicating more of his time and energy towards raising the six-year old.

A source source told OK!: “Liam is taking on more responsibilities and really regrets those comments he made about kids ruining relationships. He wants to prove to Cheryl that he’s now going in the right direction and has really changed.”

The source further divulged: “His health scares have also pushed him to realise that he wants to be a big part in Bear’s life and that time goes by too quickly.”

This commitment couldn’t have come at a better moment for his ex, Cheryl, who will soon embark on a reunion tour with her Girls Aloud bandmates, Nadine Coyle, Nicola Roberts, and Kimberley Walsh, all in remembrance of their late friend and bandmate, Sarah Harding.

The insider continued: “I think he wants to prove to Cheryl that he’s getting his life together. Liam wants to be a good dad and with Cheryl now going back on Girls Aloud, she’ll be busier than ever and won’t be at home as much.”

Liam’s new focus comes after he posted a rare picture of Bear on Instagram. The sweet snap showed the youngster in a bright yellow puffer coat looking at a massive billboard of Liam promoting his new music.

Liam captioned it: “I want to be on a billboard one day Daddy.” Following the post, the insider added: “Liam doesn’t want to miss out on any milestones and now Cheryl needs to count on him as she’ll be really busy. He’s using this time as a fresh start and his family, especially his mum, are supporting him. They want him to be the best father to Bear and that’s what he’s doing.”
