King Charles considering ‘state visit’ to America to see Archie and Lilibet

King Charles has only met his youngest grandchild Lilibet once and has seen Archie a handful of times – and is said to be ‘desperate’ to see them in person

Royal Ascot 2024 - Tuesday

King Charles is reportedly yearning for more time with his American-based grandchildren, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, as per a Royal commentator’s insights.

Despite his affectionate bond with Prince William’s offspring, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, the sovereign has had limited encounters with Prince Harry’s little ones. His Majesty has only been in the presence of Lili once and Archie a mere few times.

The King is believed to be disheartened by the geographical gap, maintaining contact through sporadic video calls from Harry and Meghan’s Montecito home, desiring a deeper connection with the young royals. Queen Camilla, on her part, seems to be backing moves to strengthen family ties, evidenced by Charles’s recent “heartfelt gift and card” to Lilibet for her third birthday.

Meanwhile, Prince Harry appears hesitant to bring his children across the pond due to ongoing legal disputes with the Home Office over security arrangements. He has expressed concerns in court about his children’s safety in the UK, stating they cannot truly “feel at home” without adequate protection.

Royal commentator Tom Quinn has exclusively revealed to The Mirror that King Charles is considering a trip across the pond. Quinn disclosed: “Charles has had discussions about an official visit to the United States at some time in the future, and there is no doubt if it goes ahead he would build in time to visit his youngest son and his grandchildren, but there are mountains of planning to be overcome before that becomes even a remote possibility,” reports the Mirror.
