Hannah Spearritt penned love letter to Brian McFadden but was ‘ghosted’ by singer
Former S Club 7 star Hannah Spearritt took a fancy to Westlife singer Brian McFadden at the end of the 90s, but her love letter to the singer didn’t blossom into romance

MAIN – Hannah S Club wrote love letter to Brian McFadden after connection but he met Kerry Katona
Former S Club star Hannah Spearritt has spoken about what could have been as she recalled the moment when she sent a love letter to Westlife singer Brian McFadden after they made a connection after they met each other on a few occasions.
The now 42-year-old actress and singer thought she might have fancied a relationship with Brian, back at the end of the 1990s, but the singer met Kerry Katona and fell in love with her, leaving Hannah looking for happiness elsewhere.
Hannah recalled how Westlife and S Club 7 often found themselves on the same bill and there were a number of times when Hannah came into contact with Brian and thought that they were hitting it off. Unfortunately, as Hannah looked to see if they could go an extra step into something more romantic, after a couple of dates, Brian “ghosted” her.

Hannah Spearritt has spoken about a relationship which never got started
Speaking to The Sun, as she reminisced about those times, Hannah said: “We’d crossed paths quite a few times and always chatted backstage at events, so we would often speak and I guess flirt a bit. I liked the way he carried himself — he had swagger. We did have a couple of dates, went out for drinks.”
Hannah added that she found him attractive and thought there was a mutual liking of each other. She continued: “I found him charming, naughty, entertaining and very handsome. We may have both been in a hotel at one point together, or something like that. But then he ghosted me.”

She was a dealt a devastating blow after she decided to write him a love letter but it was then she found out that he had actually fallen for Atomic Kitten singer, Kerry Katona. Hannah said: “I’d thought he liked me, and wrote him a love letter to explain how I felt, and it turned out he was in love with Kerry Katona.”
Brian and Kerry ended up tying the knot in 2002 and the pair welcomed two children together – Molly and Lily-Sue – but their marriage ended in 2006.
Hannah pulled out of the S Club 7 25th anniversary tour in May following the death of her bandmate and former lover, Paul Cattermole. She felt that it was not something she could be involved with following his sad passing and told The Sun that she doesn’t know whether she will perform with the band again. She said: “I’m glad that the tour is still going ahead and the songs will live on, but now I’m looking forward, not backwards.”
