Dolly Parton Tries Mending Feud Between Miley And Billy Ray Cyrus As His New Wife Gets In The Way

Dolly has reportedly encouraged Billy Ray to reach out to his daughter, but it doesn’t seem to be working.

Dolly Parton is intervening in the Cyrus family feud, hoping to reconcile Miley and Billy Ray’s strained relationship.
Miley seemed to snub her father at the Grammys, leaving him out of her acceptance speech for Record of the Year.
Despite Billy Ray’s attempts to reach out and reconcile, Miley remains close with her mom and is standing by her.
The Cyrus family is reportedly in a huge feud, with some of Miley Cyrus’ younger siblings refusing to attend their mom Tish’s wedding to Prison Break actor Dominic Purcell. But the kids also seem on the outs with their father Billy Ray Cyrus, especially after they seemed to skip his wedding to much-younger singer Firerose last fall.
Even more telling, Miley seemed to indirectly diss her father Billy Ray Cyrus when she left him out of her Grammy’s acceptance speech earlier this year, despite touching words for her mom. This came amid reports that Miley and Billy Ray aren’t even on speaking terms, but it seems like her godmother Dolly Parton wants to fix that.

“Billy Ray and Miley are like family to Dolly,” a source claimed to the National Enquirer. “She can’t stand that they’re not talking.”
“Dolly told Miley she admires her principles, but cutting her own father out of her life is a mistake she’s going to regret forever,” they went on.
Dolly is also seemingly talking to Billy Ray about the situation, as she’s encouraged “Billy Ray to apologize to Miley — even if he feels like he has nothing to apologize for!”

Miley Seemed To Diss Her Dad At The Grammy’s

During the Grammy ceremony held in Los Angeles on Sunday, February 4, Miley won out of eight artists nominated for Record of the Year,. While expressing gratitude to her “mommy” Tish Cyrus, sister Brandi Cyrus, and “love” Maxx Morando, Miley notably omitted a similar acknowledgment to her father and fellow musician, Billy Ray, as she accepted the award for her track “Flowers.”
In her remarks, Miley conveyed appreciation for the honor while expressing a hope that it wouldn’t drastically alter her perspective on life. Further extending gratitude, Miley recognized the song’s cowriters and producers.

Reflecting on the significance of the moment, Miley emphasized the importance of recognizing everyone’s inherent worth. “Not everyone in the world will get a Grammy, but everyone in this world is spectacular,” she said. “So please don’t think that this is important — Even though it’s very important, right, guys? We are very excited. I want to thank everyone who is standing on the stage.”
Reports say Billy Ray tried reaching out to Miley after the Grammy’s (perhaps a la Dolly’s advice), but it seems to have gotten him nowhere.
“Miley and Billy Ray are on the outs,” a source told Us Weekly. “Miley’s very close with her mom and is standing by her.”
“He’s tried reaching out to Miley many times and congratulated her on her Grammys,” they continued. “The kids have chosen sides, but friends are hoping the rift doesn’t last forever.”
“[Miley] has always been close with Billy Ray,” they added. “It’s caused a rift between her and Miley.”
A separate insider added, “Family dynamics haven’t been the same since the divorce, and now that Tish and Billy Ray are with other people, there’s even more division among them all.”
For now, Miley hasn’t publicly addressed the rumors of a feud in her family.
