Carson Daly Is Really Missing Blake Shelton on ‘The Voice’ [Pics]

Daly was struggling without his bestie’s presence!

July 10 was Carson Daly’s first day hosting The Voice without his good friend and former Coach, Blake Shelton, and it’s safe to say that Daly misses the cowboy dearly.

Daly took to his official Instagram page and shared an update on how he’s doing in a Blake-less Voice world. “My first day ever shooting @nbcthevoice without @blakeshelton. We had a ritual of getting hair & makeup together for 23 seasons. I think I’m handling it well. Everything’s fine,” he jokingly captioned the post, which shows him dramatically fake-crying.

Shelton’s last day on The Voice was this May during the Season 23 finale. Daly made a sincere post then, too, that gave a nod to everything Shelton contributed to the show.

“Today’s just gonna be weird! No other way to put it. For over 12 years I’ve watched the cowboy do his thing on @nbcthevoice & we have laughed & had fun, literally the entire time. Thank you buddy! Enjoy your big red chair retirement, you’ve earned it! Now let’s go make a drink! (Bring some ice over from your room, they never gave me any😂) #OneMoreShow,” Daly wrote, to which Shelton’s wife, Gwen Stefani, added a slew of crying emojis.

Shelton announced that Season 23 of The Voice would be his last in October 2022. “I’ve been wrestling with this for a while, and I’ve decided that it’s time for me to step away from The Voice after Season 23,” Shelton said in an official statement. “This show has changed my life in every way for the better, and it will always feel like home to me. It’s been a hell of a ride over these 12 years of chair turns, and I want to thank everyone at The Voice from NBC, every producer, the writers, musicians, crew and catering people; you are the best.”

He continued, “It takes a lot of work, passion, and adult beverages (Ha!) to pull off a live show twice a week. I’ve made lifelong bonds with Carson and every single one my fellow Coaches over the years, including my wife Gwen Stefani! I have to give a huge shoutout to the singers–the ‘Voices,’ who come on this stage season after season and amaze us with their talent, and a special thanks to those who chose me to be their Coach. Lastly, it’s about y’all, the fans, who watch and support these Artists, us Coaches, and everyone at The Voice who are chasing their dreams. It would not happen without you!”
