The Voice Season 24 Coach is humble when it comes to her (incredible) pipes.

Withh 17 Grammy nominations — and three wins — Reba McEntire is one of the most celebrated Artists in country music. She has one of the most recognizable (and beautiful) voices in the genre, but she won’t say that herself. No, the Season 24 Coach of The Voice is the first person to downplay her outstanding technical abilities. What can we say? She’s humble like that.

And while it’s certainly admirable to be humble, it’s just factual to say Reba McEntire is a vocal tour de force. Just listen to songs like “Fancy” and “Turn on the Radio” as proof. Even still, McEntire says it’s not her voice that’s given her the success she has — it’s something that can’t be easily quantified. And she’s hoping to infuse that something into her team members on The Voice this fall. (Season 24, featuring McEntire as a Coach, premieres September 25 at 8/7c on NBC and next day on Peacock.)

In a recent interview with NBC Insider, McEntire opened up about what she hopes to bring to her Artists on The Voice. What she said low-key revealed her own secret for achieving longevity in the music biz.

“I think my [professional] strong points are emotion and showmanship,” she said. “Connecting with an audience. That’s really big for me. I’m not the best singer. I am not the best dancer on stage with choreography or anything, but I do know how after many years of doing this how to connect with an audience — because I like to watch other entertainers and see how they do it. I pick up and I steal from other professionals who have been doing it longer than I have. That’s hard to imagine, ’cause I’ve been around for a long time, but it’s always fun to learn and see what other people are doing.”
