Some Moments Where Wednesday and Harry Potter Share Similarity
Netflix’s Wednesday is very similar to Harry Potter, be it the supernatural elements or the aspect of friendships. Many fans claim that it reminded them of some iconic moments from Harry Potter.
In the first episode of the series, Wednesday arrives at Nevermore Academy, a boarding school for the supernaturally gifted. She is greeted by Headmistress Larissa Weems, who leads her on a tour of the school. The scene is eerily similar to Harry’s arrival at Hogwarts in the first Harry Potter film. Both Wednesday and Harry are greeted by a headmaster/headmistress who leads them on a tour of the school.

Wednesday and her friends must defeat a powerful evil force that is threatening Nevermore. This is similar to Harry Potter and his friends defeating the evil Lord Voldemort. In both cases, the students are fighting to save their school and their friends from a powerful and dangerous enemy.
Wednesday Addams and her friends explore a forbidden forest, just as Harry Potter and his friends explore the Forbidden Forest in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. In both scenes, the characters are warned not to enter the forest, but they do so anyway. Once in the forest, they come across a number of dangerous creatures and obstacles. In Wednesday, the characters encounter a pack of werewolves, while in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, the characters encounter a unicorn that has been killed by Voldemort.
Wednesday’ Season 1
In one episode of Wednesday, Wednesday is seen taking a Potions class. The scene is very similar to a scene in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone where Hermione Granger takes her first Potions class. In both scenes, the teacher is a stern woman who demands perfection from her students.
Both Wednesday and Harry Potter have tons of supernatural creatures in it. In Harry Potter, there are centaurs, elves, giants, goblins, ghosts, and Dementors, definitely. On the other hand, vampires, sirens, shapeshifters, werewolves, and giants are seen on Wednesday.
Despite these momentary similarities, Wednesday has its own unique story and characters.
