Amid rumours of estrangement, Victoria Beckham reached out to Brooklyn Beckham on social media earlier today. The former Spice Girls member shared a message for her son as speculation of an apparent family rift continues.

Victoria, 51, shared an update with fans on her Instagram Story this morning. The post included a family photo that showed the four children she shares with David Beckham, 50, alongside her parents Tony Adams and Jackie Adams.

The couple were seen beside their grandchildren Brooklyn, 26, Romeo Beckham, 22, Cruz Beckham, 20, and Harper Beckham, 13, in the photo posted by Victoria. She tagged her mother and her three sons in the caption of the post.

Alongside the photo, Victoria expressed her love for her parents and her kids in the caption. In a message seemingly on behalf of herself and her husband David, she wrote: “We both love you all so much”. She included a heart emoji.

It comes after Victoria celebrated her father’s birthday with a series of posts on the platform yesterday. One apparent throwback photo that she shared for the occasion included Brooklyn and it appeared to be from the same event as the family photo posted by the fashion designer earlier today.

Victoria’s message comes after amid reports of a rift within the Beckham family. Brooklyn and his wife Nicola Peltz, 30, are thought to have been absent from a party for David earlier this month after reportedly missing other celebrations.

The occasion fuelled speculation of tension within the family, following reports of ‘snubs’ on social media. As previous just weeks ago, a source told the Mirror recently that there is “distance” between Brooklyn and his parents.

They said: “Brooklyn not turning up was a real blow to David. Brooklyn was close with his dad growing up, but he is married now. His wife Nicola is older and confident in her own right, and so there is distance between Brooklyn and his parents.”

The source added: “It has become a problem and not something they can keep private because of the way the family uses social media. Things have escalated in recent months, and there is a very obvious rift that David and Victoria would love to heal.”

A source complained to the Daily Mail about actor Nicola in an article published earlier this month. They said: “Victoria and David would do anything to get their son back, but they are done with Nicola now.”

The source went on to claim that Nicola “finds a way to start an argument” and claimed that Brooklyn had told David and Victoria that he would be there for his father’s birthday. The source however alleged that, amid his making plans with his family, Nicola would then “kick something off” and in the end it becomes “impossible” for Brooklyn to attend such events.

However, amid much speculation, a source has since suggested to the Mirror that Nicola is the peacekeeper. The claim came following reports that her and Brooklyn had offered to privately meet David in the UK for his 50th birthday, rather than attend his party, but didn’t have their request fulfilled.

The source said: “Nicola encourages Brooklyn to see his family and is usually the reason Brooklyn does see his family. They are both devastated. They cannot believe that Victoria & David refused to see them privately after they travelled all the way to London specifically to try to repair the relationship.”

They added: “As parents, it’s shocking that Victoria & David are behaving this way… instead of privately discussing the issue. Victoria and David (appear to) have no interest in finding a solution that works for everyone.”
