A TV insider told The Sun that viewers are ‘hungry’ for ‘celebrity-based At Home With…’ type shows. “But Stacey, with hubby Joe, is blazing a trail,” they said.

The Mirror have reached out to the BBC for comment. It comes after fans watched the final episode of series two of Stacey & Joe.

In the episode, Joe looked after the kids while Stacey went to Lake Como to launch a new product as part of her beauty brand. “I don’t mind the solo parenting – looking after my kids is my happy place, my safe space,” Joe told the show. “They make me who I am.”

However, he later admitted that juggling so many school runs and schedules was tricky. “Stacey is like the permanent teacher, I’m the substitute teacher that the kids just take advantage of,” he said, while Stacey added: “Because you let them.”

In one scene, Joe tried to get the kids ready for school – but found himself waiting for stepson Leighton to stop getting ready and get in the car.

“Stacey goes to me, ‘Go and drag him out of bed.’ The kid is six foot! I can’t be dragging him out of bed much longer before he starts dragging me out of bed,” he said.

During the episode, the couple’s relatives weighed in on Joe’s parenting style – including his sisters, Shana and Casie. “Joe is almost on the level of the children,” Shana said, while Casie added: “Yeah 100%. But that’s what’s great about him.

“I think that’s why our children love him as well because it’s fun. He’s like that all the time and if he tries to be strict, it doesn’t really work.”
