Radio star Lynne Hoggan rushed to hospital after ‘sizeable’ bleed on her brain

A popular radio presenter has suffered a ‘sizeable’ bleed on the brain and two aneurysms, her sister-in-law has confirmed in a social media update on the star’s behalf

A popular radio presenter has suffered a bleed on the brain, her sister-in-law has confirmed.

Scottish presenter Lynne Hoggan became unwell a few weeks ago. The presenter of shows on Clyde 1, Forth 1, Tay FM, North Sound and MFR was taken to hospital. There, doctors discovered a “sizeable” bleed on the brain as well as two aneurysms

Posting on Lynne’s Instagram account, sister-in-law Rachel said: “A little life update- from Lynne’s sister in law, Rachel (as instructed by Lynne herself.)

“I appreciate a lot of you have been messaging Lynne and wondering where she has been lately. Unfortunately, a week ago she took unwell and it turned out to be a sizeable bleed on the brain which was two aneurysms.”

She added: “She has now had surgery and stents put in her brain and is recovering in the best care possible.”

In a second update she continued: “Lynne still has a long way to go and will be in hospital for a while and is unable to communicate properly at the moment whilst she is recovering.

“She appreciates all the love and support and will be in touch with all the individuals that have reached out to her once she is better.”

Followers and friends took to the comments section to send well wishes. Among them was her ex-Pure Radio colleague DJ Robin Galloway, who wrote: “Shocked to hear this news. Radio and life needs Lynne Hoggan on it and in it.

“Praying for a full and speedy recovery. A special talent and cherished friend.”

Another follower added: “Please send my love to Lynne and if she needs anything at all don’t hesitate to reach out,” while a third said: “Sending love to you and the whole family!”

Laura Woods was among those also clicking the like button on the uploads.

Lynne began her career on the airwaves in 1999 in Dundee. She has previously featured on Wave FM and Pure Radio before she moved to Bauer Media stations. Hey Rayo biography listed her show as: “Lynne has the Biggest Hits, the Biggest Throwbacks.”

The podcast focussed on all things sex related and promised that nothing is off the table from “Real Women” that “Talk Real Sex”. However, after one season, the show is yet to return.

Lynne has over 11,000 followers on her Instagram account and regularly posts on the platform.

Recently, she shared an update which included 16 images from her 2025 so far. Among the images was a staff badge for Franz Ferdinand Live & Up Close.

Another image saw her sitting at the microphone for her show while holding a pair of headphones, while a third saw her pose in a zebra-print suit. She threw up the peace sign as she snapped in image of herself in a mirror.
