Prince William makes surprise confession about sleeping arrangement with Kate Middleton

The Prince and Princess of Wales live at Adelaide Cottage near Windsor Castle – and on an outing last year Prince William revealed a surprising fact when it comes to bed time with wife Kate

The Prince and Princess of Wales fiercely guard time with their children at Adelaide Cottage – the home they see as their private sanctuary.

The couple live in the five-bedroom home on the Windsor estate with their three children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis – as well as their beloved family dog, Orla, the cocker spaniel. They’ve called Adelaide Cottage home for almost three years now, with only a few snippets of what goes on behind closed doors. However, on one outing, William seemingly lifted the lid on what happens at bed time with him and Kate with them often joined by one of their family members – Orla, the dog.

William made the revelation as he petted a wellwisher’s dog during a visit to Duchy College in Cornwall last year. As he chatted to Louise Harland and stroked her dog Jacks, she says that the prince told her that Orla often sleeps on the bed alongside the royal couple.

Louise told Hits Radio Cornwall: “[William] said that his little dog sleeps on the bed with them at night, with him and Kate. [He was] absolutely in love with my little dog. He asked what breed he was and he’s never met one of those breeds, he’s a Cockerjack, so he’s a little bit of a unique combination.”

Orla is not the family’s first pet. William and Kate’s previous dog Lupo – a wedding present from Kate’s brother James – died in November 2020.

In 2022 she featured in a beautiful photo with Princess Charlotte that was released to mark her seventh birthday in May and joined William and Kate at a polo match in 2023.

Meanwhile, it also seems the Wales family have other animals too. Last year, William visited Woodgate Valley Urban Farm, where he got to meet a range of animals – including some very cuddly guinea pigs. The prince got to pet them and was also allowed to brush the fur of one called Snowflake. And he told some of those he met at the farm: “These guys are pretty cool. We’ve got guinea pigs at home and they are not like this.

“I have to spend my life cleaning out the guinea pig cage because the children forget to do it. And then they run off because you have to handle them all the time, that’s why these ones are so calm. The ones we’ve got at home, they’re off. You have to keep them constantly stroked and looked after.
