The Prince and Princess of Wales looked loved-up in a new photograph shared on the day of their 14th wedding anniversary, having spent the special occasion in the Isle of Mull in Scotland as part of a two-day visit.

In the new snap, the couple, who sported matching checked blazers and chinos, took in the breathtaking scenery as they wrapped their arms around one another and shared a private moment together in Tobermory. “Wonderful to be back on the Isle of Mull. Thank you to everyone for such a warm welcome,” the caption read alongside “W & C” to represent their initials.

The sweet picture comes hours after Prince William and Kate arrived on the island where they waved to the crowds who’d gathered to catch a glimpse of the royal couple. With the pair set to spend two-days on the island, they kicked off the trip with a visit to Aros Hall in the coastal town of Tobermory and were greeted by cheers by over 200 tourists and local residents who lined the main street of Tobermory to welcome them.

Aros Hall and a community hall in the village of Pennyghael in southern Mull are receiving grants from the Royal Foundation to fund their refurbishment. As part of the project, interior designer Banjo Beale, will work with fellow islanders to ensure the community-owned centres reflect the area’s culture.

After receiving a tour of the building, Prince William and Kate, who are officially known by their Scottish titles the Duke and Duchess of Rothesay when in Scotland, headed to the Tobermory Producers Market where they sampled produce and met the makers and creators.

“Their first anniversary after Catherine’s official remission has to be that extra bit special. Every milestone takes them that little bit further away from the dreadful day when she was diagnosed with cancer. After his mother died, William said he knew it would make or break him and he refused to let it break him,” she said.

“I think they have both taken a similar attitude to dealing with the brutal year they have just endured. Their marriage is, I think, even stronger than before, and it was already a roaring success. I think they like each other. A lot. And that’s a whole different thing to loving one another -which, incidentally, they also do. A lot.”

When it comes to what makes their relationship so successful, Jennie added: “I think theirs is a pretty equal partnership. William is a much more hands-on dad than his father or grandfather. And I don’t think Catherine would let him get away with anything less.

“They operate as a partnership and they have such a deep understanding of one another that they can communicate when they are out and about with just a look or a gesture. They seem sometimes to have private jokes that make them smile or nudge one another.”
