Nicola Peltz’s ‘plight to become the new Victoria Beckham in desperate bid for fame’

David Beckham and wife Victoria’s world has been rocked by a family feud that saw their eldest son skip his 50th birthday celebrations with Nicola Peltz at the centre of blame

Nicola Peltz has found herself at the centre of the Beckham’s drama as she has been accused of “controlling” her husband Brooklyn Beckham. The couple shocked fans, as well as their famous family, when they snubbed all of football icon David’s birthday bashes.

The England legend marked his 50th alongside his closest pals, wife Victoria and their children – yet Brooklyn was notably absent. Despite being in London, Brooklyn and Nicola decided to swerve the celebrations in a move that is said to have left the relationship “beyond repair”.

It has been claimed Brooklyn was set to attend his dad’s lavish event at a swanky restaurant in the Notting Hill area of London, yet the latest feud reportedly erupted. Sources now claim the Beckham family are “done with Nicola” after David was left “hurt” by their no-show.

Brooklyn and Nicola tied the knot back in 2022, yet there have been plenty of rumours of warring between the in-laws. The clashes started even before they said ‘I do’ and things have reportedly “not been the same” between Brooklyn and his parents.

It was during wedding planning that things truly came to boiling point, with Victoria said to have found it “difficult” taking a back seat. The major point of contention came as Nicola’s family – headed by American businessman Nelson Peltz, who is worth a reported £1.3 billion – took care of all the planning.

Victoria had reportedly wanted the wedding to be held closer to home, and offered to custom make a gown for Nicola. However, she opted to wear couture Valentino dress despite the initial plans.

Amid the current family feud, sources have claimed Nicola was keen to become the next Victoria Beckham when she first started dating Brooklyn in 2019.

She allegedly was drawn to the appeal of the Beckham name and his 16.4million Instagram followers compared to her 3million. “Nicola’s family are much, much richer than the Beckhams,” a source told Daily Mail.

“But the Beckham are so much more famous. There isn’t a showbiz family that is anywhere near their level of fame when it comes to social media.”

Nicola is said to “loves that aspect of it all” as the Beckham connection “definitely keeps her in the limelight”. They added: “Some might be inclined to believe she uses her connections – and husband – for what she can get from them.”

Responding to the reported feud at the time over the wedding dress, Nicola said that it “hurts [her] feelings” and insisted that David and Victoria are “great in-laws”.

However, while speaking to Grazia USA, she appeared to hint at the tension. “Well, I was planning on wearing Victoria’s wedding dress,” she explained.

“I was truly so excited to be able to wear a design that my future mother-in-law created. We connected to start designing the dress, and then a few days went by and I didn’t hear anything. Victoria called my mom and said her atelier couldn’t make it.”

She continued: “When I read things that say [things like] I was never planning on wearing a [Victoria Beckham] dress or things like that, it does hurt my feelings. I try not to let it, but it’s just not the truth. It’s just a bit of a bummer when you’re like, ‘Oh, people think that,’ but it’s just not true.”

Since the wedding, Nicola has appeared to reference her Spice Girl mother-in-law and wore a plunge outfit, which was originally created by Victoria, to her 51st birthday.

She shared a throwback photo with Victoria to mark her 50th birthday, writing, “Happy Birthday to my beautiful MIL.” However, this year both Brooklyn and Nicola failed to publicly mark Victoria’s 51st birthday as well as missing David’s celebrations.

Sources have since claimed Nicola “finds a way to start an argument” and pushes her husband to not speak to his family. A source close to the family told the Mirror that Brooklyn being a no-show was a “blow” to his famous dad.

They told us: “Brooklyn was close with his dad growing up, but he is married now. His wife Nicola is older and confident in her own right, and so there is distance between Brooklyn and his parents.

“It has become a problem and not something they can keep private because of the way the family uses social media. Things have escalated in recent months, and there is a very obvious rift that David and Victoria would love to heal.”

The Mirror has contacted Nicola’s representative for comment.
