Mickey Rourke’s £500,000 fee ‘to be slashed by ITV’ after Celebrity Big Brother axe

Mickey Rourke’s Celebrity Big Brother fee will reportedly be cut after the Hollywood star was booted from the ITV show’s house over unacceptable behaviour and language

Mickey Rourke won’t be getting his rumoured £500,000 fee after being booted from the Celebrity Big Brother house, according to reports. The Hollywood star, who was removed from the show yesterday over his behaviour, will reportedly be receiving less than his agreed fee as a result of being axed from the line-up.

“Mickey won’t be receiving all his money from ITV,” a source told The Sun. “If a celebrity gets removed from the house, they don’t get the full fee. It’s as simple as that and they will be discussing that with him. Mickey was ready to leave the house and it ended up feeling like a mutual decision between him and ITV in the end. It was getting too much.” The Mirror has reached out to ITV for comment.

It was revealed that that the Hollywood star was removed from the house after a disagreement between him and fellow housemate Chris Hughes led to behaviour and language that was deemed threatening and aggressive.

Since the show’s launch last Monday, The Wrestler’s Micky, 72, has been embroiled in a number of controversies – including his homophobia scandal that resulted in a formal warning from Big Brother earlier this week.

On Wednesday, Mickey was issued a stern warning from the show after telling JoJo Siwa that she “won’t be gay anymore” after a few days in the house with him, before telling other housemates: “I’m going to vote the lesbian out real quick.”

He then told the other stars that he needed “a fag” before gesturing to JoJo and saying: “I’m not talking to you.” He was quickly pulled up on his comments by Chris Hughes before being called in the diary room to receive a formal warning.

Later on in the week, Mickey was slammed by viewers for “fat-shaming” contestant Donna Preston after telling her that she would be “better off running around the block for ten minutes” and adding: “It’s like they say, you are what you eat.”

While during Friday’s live eviction episode, viewers watched as EastEnders star Patsy Palmer burst into tears after Mickey made comments about her cooking in the house.

“I tried to talk that one out but it didn’t really work. I feel like I let myself down there and I don’t want my reactions to be like that,” she told Big Brother while emotional in the diary room. “I always want my kids to always stand up for themselves. Maybe it was just a joke – maybe I need to look at it like that. I need to try to rise above it. It doesn’t mean I have to like him

His former housemate Michael Fabricant addressed his sudden exit from the reality show in a social media post, shortly after he was the first star to be evicted from the show last week.

Taking to X to share the news of Mickey’s removal from the show, Michael wrote: “He wanted to leave on Day One,” alongside an exclamation mark emoji.
