I’m A Celeb’s Melvin Odoom confirms relationship status

Melvin Odoom has confirmed his relationship status after being linked to a Married At First Sight star. The TV presenter was rumoured to be in a relationship with 27-year-old Lacey Martin who found fame on the reality show.

However, he has since confirmed that he is currently single and is not seeing Lacey. Earlier in the year, it was said that the 44-year-old had his eye on Lacey as they got close at a party in London in February.

It was thought that Lacey was Melvin’s special guest and has been messaging each other weeks before. Before this he was also linked to other TV stars such as Carol Vorderman after expressing an interest in her while he was on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! last year.

But it has since been reported by The Sun that Melvin is single. Melvin was asked about his relationship status on the red carpet at the 2025 BAFTA TV Awards as he explained: “No [I’m not dating her]. I am just a friendly guy! I am a single pringle – no mingling! I am just focusing on my work.”

Melvin previously admitted that he had his eye on the former Countdown host Carole Vorderman, saying that she was his ultimate celebrity crush while he appeared on I’m A Celeb. As a result, Carol decided to leave Melvin a flirty voicemail as the public started to believe they might be an item.

The two of them were then seen spending time with each other in March not long after Melvin said that she had ignored a text from him. Speaking to fellow I’m A Celebrity campmate GK Barry on her Saving Grace podcast she asked Melvin: “Carol Vorderman. Have you had any update on that?”

Melvin then explained: “I’ll tell you the truth. I sent her a message saying, ‘Thanks for being a great sport but here’s my number. Give me a little call’.

“She’s not read it. It’s been three weeks. Why would you not even just read it? It’s just been left there and I check it once a week. And I’m like, ‘Oh, okay…’.”

While Melvin was competing on the ITV show, Carol sent him a cheeky voicemail to wish him luck. She said: “Melvin, I’m blushing redder than that leather red dress I’m wearing on your pillowcase. But I’ll be rooting for you all the way through, and see you on the other side.”

Melvin has always kept his private life on the down low. However, he revealed that he’s open to love wherever he might find it. In a YouTube interview last year, he said: “Dating is hard. For me, don’t shut yourself off from anything because your potential partner could be anywhere. You have to chill and go with the flow, you can’t control love.”
