Meghan Markle’s Netflix cookery show includes no recipes – or cooking

Meghan Markle’s With Love, Meghan is set to land on Netflix, promising ‘how-to’s and candid conversation’ with famous pals and celeb chefs. But those looking to follow along in their own kitchens may be in for a surprise

With Love, Meghan, Meghan Markle’s eagerly anticipated new cookery show, will be served in March—but it may take a slightly different form from what avid foodies may be expecting.

Now set to air March 4, it’s understood viewers won’t be able to rustle up Meghan’s favourite dishes at home, as is often the case with food-based shows, with the matter of grams and ounces not taking centre stage here.

Indeed, sources say the upcoming Netflix series won’t include any cooking or recipes, instead taking the format of a stylish ‘how to’ guide for those who want to perfect their hostessing skills and throw get-togethers like a true duchess.

A source told the Mail Online: “There is no point at which Meghan says ‘take 200 grams of flour’ or anything like that. It’s a very magical and beautiful guide to hosting and entertaining rather than a how-to cookery show. It’s about inspiration – more like, ‘Why not try and make this kind of pasta or this kind of dessert’. Harry isn’t in it. It’s all her, and all about her. It’s very watchable.”

Although some amateur home cooks may be a little disappointed by this revelation, many of Meghan’s famous friends have expressed great excitement ahead of the launch, including her former Suits co-star, Abigail Spencer.

Taking to Instagram last month, Abigail wrote: “So elated for you @meghan! Happy New Year & 20twentythrive indeed! How lucky are we to get a glimpse into your heart-song, magical-thoughtfulness & deliciously wonderful ways! Can’t wait for all to fall in love with #WithLove Meghan.

“Thanks for having me over & being truly the most wonderful friend a gal could get. Joy & bubbles abound. Here to learn. I’ll get the salt.”

Meanwhile, Delfina Blaquier, the wife of Prince Harry’s close friend Nacho Figueras, also praised Meghan’s new endeavour in an Instagram post, cheering: “Congrats for the love and hard work you put into this project of yours! So grateful to be a part of it – I can’t wait to see all you have to share.”

The show has been described as ‘very magical and beautiful’
A description of the eight-part series published via Netflix companion site Tudum reads as follows: “Produced by Meghan, ‘With Love, Meghan’ blends practical how-to’s and candid conversation with friends, new and old.

“Meghan shares personal tips and tricks, embracing playfulness over perfection, and highlights how easy it can be to create beauty, even in the unexpected. She and her guests roll up their sleeves in the kitchen, the garden, and beyond and invite you to do the same.”

Mum-of-two Meghan will be joined in the kitchen by a number of celeb pals, including the likes of Roy Choi, Mindy Kaling, Alice Waters and Abigail Waters. “Additional acclaimed chefs and special friends” will also be stopping by.

In the trailer, Meghan, 43, tells fans: “I’ve always loved taking something pretty ordinary and elevating it. Surprising people with moments that let them know I was really thinking of them.

“I’m going to share some little tips and tricks and how you can incorporate these practices every day. This is about connecting with friends, making new friends and just learning. We’re not in the pursuit of perfection; we’re in the pursuit of joy.”
The Duchess of Sussex had been expected to release the lifestyle series on January 15 but opted to delay in light of the tragic wildfires sweeping Southern California. In a statement made to Tudum at the time, Meghan shared: “I’m thankful to my partners at Netflix for supporting me in delaying the launch, as we focus on the needs of those impacted by the wildfires in my home state of California.”
