Lorraine Kelly in hospital and undergoing surgery after ‘not feeling well for a while’

ITV presenter Lorraine Kelly filmed a video from her hospital bed as she revealed to her Instagram followers that she’s undergoing surgery after ‘not feeling well for a while’

Lorraine Kelly revealed she’s undergoing surgery after ‘not feeling well for a while’. The 65-year-old ITV talk show presenter took to her Instagram page to share a video she filmed from a hospital bed as she explained to followers the reason behind her ‘preventative’ operation.

The star said she has to have her ovaries and tubes taken out but reassured fans she’ll be “totally fine”. In the video, Lorraine looked calm as she smiled for the camera and said: “Just wanted to let you know I’m having a wee procedure today. I’ve not been feeling all that well for a little while, so I had some scans and tests, and I have to have my ovaries and my tubes taken out.”

She added: “It’s purely preventative. It’s going to be with keyhole surgery, which is incredible, I’m being very well looked after, and I’ll obviously see you really soon, and I’m gonna be totally fine.”

In the caption, she wrote: “Getting keyhole surgery – all preventative – feel very lucky to be treated so well – thank you Dr Raafat and all the staff!”

Friends and fans rushed to the comment section to share their well wishes, with fellow ITV star Katie Piper writing: “Hope you make a speedy recovery,” and Dr Amir Khan posting: “Wishing you a speedy recovery – you are the best!”

Good Morning Britain’s Susanna Reid added: “Sending you all the love in the world,” while Adele Roberts posted: “Lots of love to you Lorraine! Get well soon.”

Charlotte Hawkins, Vanessa Feltz, Julia Bradbury and Matt Baker also posted their support for the presenter. Lorraine’s announcement comes several days after she comforted Adele on her show.

The touching moment unfolded after the presenter chatted with ex-BBC Radio One presenter Adele about her recent London Marathon success.

As their conversation wrapped up, the Scottish host had a heartfelt surprise in store for the 46 year-old star. Lorraine announced: “Everybody is so so proud of you and we’ve got a wee message for you, it’s from your stoma nurse Elaine.”

Adele was visibly moved as a video from her nurse played on-screen, with Elaine expressing: “You have inspired so many people and patients with stoma’s throughout. You have been an absolute godsend, you have been a person, you know, that others aim to aspire to. What a great accomplishment, and thank you for carrying us along on that journey with you.”

Overwhelmed by the gesture, Adele tearfully thanked Lorraine, apologising for her emotional response.
