Lorraine Kelly has addressed her hidden injury after fans were left concerned over her “swollen face” on Thursday’s episode of Lorraine

On Thursday’s episode of Loose Women, Lorraine Kelly addressed the mystery behind her hidden injury.

The 65-year-old ITV presenter revealed she had a black eye, which had sparked concern among viewers.

Discussing her “shiner” on the show, Lorraine explained that she had a clumsy mishap at home while doing laundry, reports Bristol Live.

Panellist Linda Robson pointed out: “You’ve got a bit of a shiner haven’t you” to which Lorraine confirmed: “I have! I will explain, yesterday, you know as women we try to do too many things at one time and we try to do it really fast?”

“I had a massive bag of washing, a huge big washing basket, I couldn’t see and was going from the kitchen to the living room, where there’s a wee step, and my slippers are too big, I fell over and then I fell onto a rhino – as you do! I hit my face on it!

“I thought I’d be fine and I woke up this morning with the biggest shiner, this big black eye, I thought I won’t say anything, I won’t say anything and Helen, our fantastic make-up artist, has actually done a brilliant job! Hasn’t she done a great job?”

Asked if it was painful, Lorraine admitted: “It’s okay… it’s a wee tiny bit but I just feel a bit silly! Also, can I just say, somebody called in and said: ‘Have I had fillers’… no!

“A lot of people were very kindly, a lot of folks were saying: ‘Are you okay?’, ‘have you got an allergies?’ Our viewers are so lovely! They were like: ‘You should try this!’

It comes as viewers had got in touch on Thursday’s Lorraine, taking to Twitter, now X, to share their concern over Lorraine’s black eye.

One person said: “@lorraine hi I am worried that you might be having an allergic reaction, your face looks very swollen, please get checked out. #Lorraine”, a different account wrote: “Crikey #lorraine what has happened to your face ? @lorraine hope she is ok ? Allergy maybe” while another added: “#Lorraine What has happened to Lorraine’s face today.
