Loose Women’s Ruth Langsford shares announcement as ITV show pulled off air

Ruth Langsford made a huge announcement at the end of Tuesday’s Loose Women, regarding an upcoming episode of the ITV show

Ruth Langsford had a huge announcement for Loose Women fans as Tuesday’s (25 March) instalment of the ITV show drew to a close.

Ruth presented the episode and was joined on the panel by Janet Street-Porter, Coleen Nolan, and Mariella Frostrup.

Following an interview with EastEnders’ James Bye and a discussion about George Clooney’s decision not to act in any more rom-coms, Ruth addressed viewers at home with an important message.

She revealed Loose Women would not be airing on Wednesday, 26 March, as it has been pulled from the ITV schedule to make way for the government’s Spring Statement announcement.

She told viewers: “We’re not here tomorrow either because of the Spring Statement. I’m sure you’re all looking forward to that. We are going to be back on Thursday though, with Adolescence actor Mark Stanley. I hope you can join us then!”

Rachel Reeves, Chancellor of the Exchequer, will deliver the 2025 Spring Statement in the House of Commons on Wednesday, following the Prime Minister’s Questions.

ITV News Special: The Chancellor’s State will air on Wednesday from 12.15pm until 1.45pm, meaning Loose Women cannot air in its usual 12.30pm slot on the broadcaster’s flagship channel.

However, Ruth confirmed Loose Women will be back on TV screens on Thursday, 27 March at 12.30pm as normal.

Earlier on Tuesday’s episode of Loose Women, Janet opened up about her holiday to Australia, which had been quite a disaster due to the weather.

As Ruth welcomed everyone to the show, she announced: “Of course, welcome back Janet. So, Janet, there I was sunning myself in the Caribbean for my birthday and I’m thinking you’re sunning yourself in Australia, but no.”

Janet, unamused, replied: “As I arrived in Australia, Typhoon Andrew was offshore, and for the next ten days, I lived in a state of high alert. I was given a walkie-talkie, I had to go and bulk buy water, and we were trapped in our house. The road to our house we rented was flooded. It was scary stuff, but you know me. Then, on the very last day of my holiday, the sun came out.”

She managed to make light of the situation and showed a clip of herself wearing a shower cap while wishing her co-star Coleen a happy birthday, filmed during her getaway to Australia earlier this month.
