Liam Payne’s jaw-dropping fortune he left to loved ones after dying without will

Cheryl Tweedy has been granted the power of administration of the late Liam Payne’s estate after he died without writing a will. The One Direction singer tragically died aged 31 in October last year after falling from a third-floor balcony during his stay at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The Strip That Down singer, who shares an eight-year-old son named Bear with Cheryl, left behind £24.3million. According to court documents filed on May 1, music lawyer Richard Bray was also named as an administrator. He left behind £28.6million, which after expenses and debts were paid, went down to £24.3million.

Following his death, Cheryl paid a devastating tribute to Liam as she described his death as an “earth shattering event”.

She said at the time: “As I try to navigate this earth shattering event, and work through my own grief at this indescribably painful time, I’d like to kindly remind everyone that we have lost a human being.

“Liam was not only a pop star and celebrity, he was a son, a brother, an uncle, a dear friend and a father to our 7 year old son. A son that now has to face the reality of never seeing his father again.”

The chart-topping Girls Aloud singer went on to say: “What is troubling my spirit the most is that one day Bear will have access to the abhorrent reports and media exploitation we have seen in the past two days. It is breaking my heart further that I cannot protect him from that in his future.

“I am begging you to consider what use some of these reports are serving, other than to cause further harm to everyone left behind picking up the pieces.

“Before you leave comments or make videos, ask yourself if you would like your own child or family to read them. Please give Liam the little dignity he has left in the wake of his death to rest in some peace at last. Thank you, Cheryl.”

Cheryl and Liam’s son, Bear, was born at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London on March 22, 2017. Announcing the birth of his only son at the time on Instagram, Liam posted: “My close friends and family know there are very few times when I’m left speechless… wow!”

Liam and Cheryl went their separate ways soon after Bear’s first birthday, but the pair continued co-parenting and even though the singer wasn’t with his son constantly, he always made sure he was provided for.

According to some of Liam’s friends, the superstar made arrangements “some years ago” to ensure his money would go to his only child in the event of his death.

An insider previously told The Daily Mail: “Liam had some very sensible people around him for a time and he adored Bear so much.

“He always wanted to do the right thing by him financially. It is a small consolation that Bear will never want for anything, that he will at least benefit from that.”
