Katie Price has revealed her hopes to reconcile with ex-husband Peter Andre after their messy split in 2009. The former glamour model, 46, and Mysterious Girl singer Peter, 52, fell for each other after appearing on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in 2004, with viewers watching their flirty relationship blossom in the jungle.

After leaving the jungle, the two were inseparable and secretly got engaged in May of the same year. They tied the knot in September 2005 and welcomed Junior and Princess Andre. Their whirlwind romance soon fell apart and they divorced in 2009, never to speak again, despite sharing two children.

Peter believed she had an affair with her dressage rider, Andrew Gould, which she denied as she shut down the claims during her chat with Celebs Go Dating expert Paul C Brunson on his podcast, We Need To Talk.

The split “wasn’t mutual at all” and Peter claimed at the time of their split he was “absolutely gutted” after Katie took their kids back to the Maldives villa where they’d spent their 2005 honeymoon.

Katie even admitted that the separation hadn’t been her choice. “Pete is the love of my life and my life. We have children together, and I am devastated and disappointed by his decision to separate and divorce me as I married him for life,” Katie told The Mirror at the time.

“This is not what I want, and the decision has been taken out of my hands. I will not comment further or do any interviews regarding the separation, but I will always love my Pete.”

And now, while speaking about her life and relationships with Paul, she shared her hopes to reconcile with her to work through their issues after not speaking to one another for 16 years. “You’ve not talked to Peter Andre – would you have a chat with him here?” Paul asked Katie, to which she honestly responded: “Yeah I would, there’d be sparks.”

Paul added: “If we can, we will make that happen because I think it would be incredible to reconcile that – it shouldn’t even be sparks.”

Discussing the reason for their split, Katie also said: “We broke up because he thought I was having an affair with my dressage rider, and I’ve never slept with him. I just kept my horse there, and I was happy keeping my horse there, and he was married.

“But when me and Pete split, because he used to keep saying, ‘That’s it. I’ve had enough. I’ve had enough’. It got to a point where I went, ‘Well f***ing divorce me’. And I remember the day, because then I flew to the Maldives with the kids.

“That day, I’m at the airport, it’s all on Sky News, it wasn’t mutual at all. And then I redone a statement saying I don’t want to split with Pete, it’s Pete that’s splitting with me.”
