This Morning fans may have noticed that Big Brother winner Josie Gibson doesn’t appear on the ITV show as much as she used to – and now the presenter has spoken out about her absence from the presenting line-up. The 40-year-old has been a regular segment presenter on the daytime programme since making her debut in 2019.
While Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley present most days, with Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary taking on Fridays, Josie has popped onto the This Morning sofa occasionally for holiday cover. She presented the show alongside Rylan Clark back in August while the regular hosts took a break.
Now, Josie has opened up about appearing less on the ITV show in a new interview. Stepping out on the red carpet at the Pride of Britain Awards last night, the broadcaster said that she’s been busy with other projects.

“Well actually I haven’t really stepped away [from This Morning], I have been doing a lot of other projects,” she told The Daily Mail. “I’ve been filming a renovation show and I’m so blessed and lucky and I’m not going to lie it’s been stressful.”
She added that it’s been tricky filming her upcoming DIY show. “I’ve hit a lot of hurdles but it’s how you get back up, I’m not a good jumper at times but I get back up and keep trying.”
Despite missing episodes of This Morning, she said that the presenting line-up and crew are “like a family”. She added: “When you get there, it is lovely to see everybody and we’ve done a lot of stuff together and we’ve grown together. They are just like a real good family.”
Last night’s Pride of Britain Awards saw the biggest stars descend on London’s Grosvenor House Hotel to celebrate the nation’s unsung heroes.
From I’m A Celebrity’s GK Barry and Strictly’s Amy Dowden to Freddie Brazier and EastEnders’ Colin Salmon, British celebs stepped out in their finery for a heartwarming night.
Hosted by Carol Vorderman and Ashley Banjo, the awards honoured a number of amazing individuals with gongs – including cancer survivor Georgie Hyslop, who received her award from Barbie’s Margot Robbie.
“I’ve heard all about the fundraising you’ve been doing, everything you’ve been through, it has been hugely inspiring for me,” Barbie icon Margot Robbie told her.
Georgie raised more than £55,000 for others before winning the Good Morning Britain Young Fundraiser at the Pride of Britain Awards. Overjoyed at meeting her idol, Georgie said: “I can’t even imagine that that’s happened to me.”
