Jane McDonald announces Loose Women return a decade after quitting panel

Fans were thrilled when Jane McDonald announced she is returning to ITV daytime show Loose Women as a guest this week

She was a popular panellist on Loose Women for 10 years before quitting a decade ago but now Jane McDonald has announced her return – and fans can’t wait.

The TV presenter and singer took to her official Instagram account to announce the news. She said: “Looking forward to joining the Loose Women next Friday 6th September for a good gossip about everything I’ve got coming up!!”

Fan favourite Jane will have plenty to chat about when she appears as a guest on the ITV show Friday, September 6 as her busy schedule includes a live tour and a new book, Let The Light In: Lessons learned through Life, Love and Laughter, in which she hopes to help readers keep chasing their dreams, conquer their fears and find more joy in life.

Fans rushed to comment following Jane’s announcement with one posting on X: “Cannot wait to watch and read your new book x” A second said: “Looking forward to seeing you on Friday Jane and also wondering what you will be wearing.”

Another added: “Will be great to see you on Loose Women xxx” A fourth said: “They will have to hold my flight up so I can watch you Jane, but recording it just in case. Xxx”

There were also plenty of calls for her to rejoin the panel, with one saying: “Please put your Loose Woman’ hat back on again and rejoin the panel – even if it’s only one day a week! We miss you!” And another: “Please come back on the panel miss you x”

The star’s appearance comes after it was reported that she’d not be returning to mark the 25th anniversary of Loose Women this month.

Previously, The Mirror reported a spokesperson for Jane stating: “There are no discussions taking place with regards to Jane returning to Loose Women whatsoever. She always thoroughly enjoys going back as a guest and catching up with the ladies but there’s no plans to go back as a panellist.”
