David Beckham is turning 50 on May 2nd – and while we’d expect wall-to-wall tributes and a huge family party to mark the occasion, it looks like things behind the scenes aren’t quite so picture-perfect. The Beckhams are known for being super tight. But in the run-up to David’s milestone birthday, fans and those close to the family spotted what they maintained were signs of tension – and all eyes were once again on Brooklyn Beckham and wife Nicola Peltz.
Now, a source exclusively tells OK! that his devoted wife Victoria Beckham is “absolutely heartbroken” over the ongoing divide – and thinks that David could be the only one capable of bringing everyone back together. “Victoria’s absolutely heartbroken. She’s always been the queen bee – the one who keeps the family together, smooths things over. She’s a real family woman. But at the end of the day, she can’t control her eldest. Brooklyn’s a grown man now. He’s made his choices, especially when it comes to who he’s with – who, sadly, doesn’t always agree with the way the Beckham brand works,” they claim.

“They feel they’ve got their own brand – kind of in competition with each other. Victoria will do everything to pull this back. She’ll plead, she’ll cry, she’ll try and reason with him. But Brooklyn is stubborn. He listens to his wife over her – and that’s what she can’t get over,” they add.
Victoria celebrated her 51st birthday earlier this month with a lavish party on their superyacht in Miami, attended by friends and family, which lent itself to sun-soaked selfies galore…. but Brooklyn and Nicola were noticeably missing in action.
Worse still, while the rest of the family – Romeo, Cruz, Harper and of course, David – all posted gushing birthday tributes online, Brooklyn and Nicola stayed noticeably silent on their socials. The apparent snub didn’t go unnoticed by fans, especially since Nicola had plenty of time to post about her and Brooklyn’s trip to Coachella music festival that weekend, instead – with no public mention from Nicola or Brooklyn of Victoria’s big day.
Our source goes on to claim that, despite rumoured tensions behind-the-scenes, any frosty relations can be fixed – with a little help from David.
“David is the most wonderful father and has given them the most wonderful life. He props up Victoria’s fashion brand, he does everything for the family, but even he can’t control this – and Victoria thinks she can. That’s the problem.”
Now, the family’s future harmony could hinge on Becks, they claim. “David has a chance at fixing this now. He’s a great communicator, and they have huge respect for him. He’s the one that can do it.”

This isn’t the first time rumors of a rift in the family have swirled. Brooklyn and Nicola’s 2022 wedding was swathed in talk of a “feud” between Victoria and Nicola. Reports at the time alleged that the pair clashed over everything from the dress to the guest list – and despite the clan giving the appearance of happy families in public, fans think something’s been bubbling under the surface ever since.
So what’s really going on behind Brooklyn and Nicola’s no-shows at major family events? The couple missed Victoria’s 51st birthday bash and skipped her Paris Fashion Week show back in February – but there is speculation that it’s not just down to scheduling issues.There’s growing chatter that the real reason might be closer to home… and it’s got everything to do with Romeo’s girlfriend, DJ Kim Turnball.
Romeo, 22, and Kim have been dating for six months. But, according to reports, Brooklyn, 26, and Kim had first dated back when they were teenagers. If rumour is to believed, Brooklyn and Nicola have been keeping their distance because they don’t want to be around when Romeo is with Kim – which would explain why they’ve been swerving big family get-togethers lately.
And while the rest of the Beckhams have embraced Kim with open arms (she was seen at Victoria’s birthday do, after all), it would seem this age-gap romance has thrown a major spanner in the works when it comes to family peace and harmony.

Victoria has always made it crystal clear – her family is her world. From cute Insta tributes to heart-warming holiday pics, she’s incredibly close with her children and husband, and no stranger to letting the world know. In interviews, she’s gushed more than once about how much she values loyalty, unity and keeping her brood close.
For the doting mum of four, for her eldest son and his wife to keep their distance during such a special time has got to sting – especially when family is so important to them. As David has said in the past, “We stay together because we love each other, because we have four amazing children.
