Celebrity Big Brother star Chris Hughes is reportedly set to replace Christine McGuinness on the new series of Celebs Go Dating after the model suddenly quit the show. Christine, 37, announced today that she had left the show, telling her Instagram followers that it was “too soon” for her to be dating on a public platform.

Now, reality star Chris is reportedly filling her place after both he and CBB co-star JoJo Siwa made headlines with their close bond on the show. A TV insider told The Sun: “This is set to be a great coup for Celebs Go Dating.

“The agents will be eager to get to know the real truth about Chris and what he is looking for following his connection with JoJo.” The Mirror has reached out to Celebs Go Dating for comment.

Celebs Go Dating announced its official line-up last week, with the likes of Kerry Katona, Olivia Hawkins, Mark Labbett and other stars heading to Ibiza for filming.

However, the show was short-lived for model Christine, who announced today that she would leaving the series just a few days into filming.

“I joined Celebs Go Dating with great intentions but have realised that dating on a public platform and the attention that brings is just too soon for me. They’ve said the door is always open for me which I’m so grateful but for now I’m returning home to my family,” she said in a statement.

A spokesperson for Celebs Go Dating added: “We have loved having Christine on the show and completely respect her feelings and decision to return home and have told her that the door is always open for her in the future at the agency.”

If Chris does head to the Celebs Go Dating villa, he’ll be fresh from the Celebrity Big Brother house – in which he struck up a close relationship with US popstar JoJo Siwa.

Since the ITV show came to an end in April, the pair have spoken out about their friendship, with both insisting that their relationship is platonic.

JoJo told This Morning’s Ben Shephard last week: “It is platonic. We have a lot of fun together. Life is life and I don’t know any future of anything. But I’m really grateful for our dynamic and our bond that we have and whatever life does, life will do.”
