Harry Potter star Rupert Grint has just confirmed that he and partner Georgia Groome have welcomed their second child

Rupert Grint has confirmed that he and partner Georgia Groome have welcomed their second child. The Harry Potter teasingly said that they’d kept the happy news a ‘secret’ before announcing their newest family member.

Actor Rupert announced the arrival and sweet name of their little girl on Instagram, sharing a photo of a baby in a onesie embroidered with the name ‘Goldie,’ layered with a grey cardigan.

Alongside the photo, he wrote: “‘Secret Child Slightly Revealed’ Introducing Goldie G. Grint. A 10/10 baby (so far). Shout out to @alex.digesu for always delivering.” Dr. Alex Digesu is a childbirth expert, who appears to be responsible for the healthy delivery of baby Goldie.

In the comment section of the post, fans rushed to congratulate the couple on their newest addition, with one writing: “Congratulations, Rupert! She is so beautiful, just like her big sister. Her mother and you are wonderful parents.” There were also plenty of Harry Potter jokes, with commenters celebrating the birth of another Gryffindor and the growth of the fictional Weasley family.

Rupert and Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging star Georgia started dating in 2011, but many people were completely unaware until a snap of them went viral on X, formerly known as Twitter.

One person tweeted: “I was today years old when I found out Georgia from Angus, thongs and perfect snogging has been going out with Ron Weasley since 2011 ????”

Speaking to Glamour about his relationship with Georgia, Rupert said: “It’s a very natural thing – we’re just best friends.

“We’re kind of the same person; we think the same way. That’s always made it work – that’s why it’s lasted. It’s hard to pinpoint exactly what it is, but it works and it’s great.”

The pair sparked marriage rumours in 2019 when they were spotted wearing what looked like matching wedding rings, but a representative insisted they hadn’t tied the knot in secret.

Then, in May 2020, the couple welcomed their first baby, Wednesday Grint, and Rupert joined Instagram to share a sweet snap of their newborn as his first ever post.

Rupert is now an experienced dad, but previously discussed the difficulties of his “terrifying” first night at home with little Wednesday, admitting he couldn’t sleep as he was constantly checking to see if she was breathing.

By 2022, the actor revealed that he’d relaxed his attitude a bit as heshared some stories about his family life on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

He revealed that “the f-word came pretty quickly” for his daughter, explaining: “She spends a lot of time in my dressing room when I’m kind of doing my lines for [Servant], and my character says the f-word a lot.

“Now she just says it whenever she’s excited. We were in the toy store today and she was just walking around, dropping it.”
