Emmerdale’s Lisa Riley has sparked concern among fans after sharing a behind-the-scenes snap from the set of the ITV soap – and some are convinced it’s a major spoiler

Lisa shared a behind the scenes photo that left fans in shock

Fans of Emmerdale are abuzz after spotting what they believe to be a major plot spoiler, courtesy of star Lisa Riley’s behind-the-scenes photo. Lisa, 48, who brings the lovable Mandy Dingle to life, posted a filming update on her Instagram account, which has sent tongues wagging.

The photo depicts Lisa standing alongside a woman who is dressed in an identical outfit, sparking intrigue among viewers. Lisa’s caption read: “As if one Mandy Dingle was not enough this morning filming at the village at @emmerdale ……..you get TWO. THANKYOU to my lovely body double Angela, absolute sweetheart. Next time you get Mandy’s Cowboy Boots also. Just another day at work! ! ! !”.

The presence of a body double has led fans to speculate that Mandy may be in grave danger, prompting a flurry of worried comments from devoted viewers. A fan expressed concern on social media, writing: “Not good if there’s a stunt woman, it means Mandy is in trouble.”

Another chimed in with worry: “Hope this doesn’t mean Mandy’s in danger at some point ? Can’t have anything happening to her.” Meanwhile, a third was surprised: “OMG Mandy has a stunt double.”

Speculation is rife that the beloved character could be facing danger. Lisa first stepped into Mandy’s shoes in 1995 and after a break from the show, she made her Emmerdale return in 2019, where she has been stirring up drama ever since.

Mandy’s journey hasn’t been smooth sailing since her return to the village. Earlier in the year, she found herself embroiled in a massive limo crash stunt that put several characters in jeopardy. At the time, Lisa shared a message with her followers on Instagram shortly before Tuesday night’s episode. The actor – who was initially on the show from 1995 to 2001, before returning in 2019 – said that it was the “best episode” she’s “ever” seen.

Beside a photo of the limo sinking into the lake, she wrote: “Honestly TONIGHTS episode of @emmerdale 7.30pm is the best episode I have EVER EVER EVER seen, in all my years, the drama, the performances, could not be more proud of our #emmerdale team. CONGRATULATIONS EMMERDALE.”

During the episode, viewers saw Amy Barton (Natalie Ann Jamieson) pulled out of the lake by Tracy Metcalfe ( Amy Walsh ) after becoming trapped underneath the ice. It has yet to be revealed whether she’s survived the incident.

Later, Kerry Wyatt ( Laura Norton ) was seen dragging herself and injured Leyla Harding ( Roxy Shahidi ) across the ice to safety. Whilst Liam Cavanagh ( Jonny McPherson ) further deteriorated after sustaining a head injury in the crash.

In an interview with The Mirror, Lisa shared the cast’s nerves about potential character exits, saying: “Whenever there is a stunt that involves a death, I will always be on standby to phone my agent. [In case] it means I am going to need to get a new job!”.

Fortunately, Mandy emerged unscathed from the ordeal, but the same couldn’t be said for three of her fellow villagers. The devastating event claimed the lives of Suzy Merton (Martelle Edinborough), Leyla Harding (Roxy Shahidi) and Amy Wyatt (Natalie Ann Jamieson), leaving the community reeling.
