Eamonn Holmes has revealed he was rushed to hospital in an ambulance earlier today as the TV presenter shared a photograph of himself inside the emergency vehicle

TV star Eamonn Holmes has been rushed to hospital in an ambulance after suffering a painful fall at home.

The GB News presenter, 65, who has been open about his health woes in recent years, shared a photo on his Instagram page of a view inside an ambulance as he revealed his trip to hospital today. The image sees Eamonn wearing a pair of black Croc-style shoes with a blanket over his legs as he’s strapped to a gurney inside the emergency vehicle.

In the caption, the star revealed his latest health setback as he said: “An unexpected journey this morning ….. bit of a fall on the bathroom floor. Gosh it hurts . Thank you Ambulance crew”, followed by four clapping emojis.

As he shared the news, he was flooded with messages of support from fans in the comments section. One wrote: “Oh Eamonn, sending much love” followed by a red heart emoji. As another added: “Get well soon Big man, less dancing more singing in the bathroom from here on”.

“Ohh Eammon! Hope you recover quickly. Best wishes.”, a third penned while a fourth wrote: “Oh no. Hope you’re okay Eamonn”.

The TV star, who split from Ruth Langsford last year, has long-suffered with his health. He has been candid about struggling with his mobility in recent years due to debilitating back pain.

Eamonn has previously been seen out and about using a wheelchair or on crutches due to chronic back pain, which was caused by a dislocated pelvis. Eamonn also has two slipped discs. He later underwent surgery but suffered a setback when he fell down the stairs while recovering, which led to a broken shoulder.

Eamonn then had a spine and neck procedure in 2023, but he still suffers from pain which has led him to having sleepless nights.

Meanwhile, it has also been reported that Eamonn has been ‘wheeled in and out of the studio’ where he hosts the GB News Breakfast slot alongside Ellie Costello as he struggles with his mobility.

In March this year, Eamonn shared an update on his health – revealing he’s still living in pain as he asked for prayers. Alongside a photo of himself, Eamonn wrote in a message for his followers on Instagram: “Even when the sun shines there’s pain. Sometimes I feel I’ll never beat this disc immobility but I’m determined to have a life ….. so pray for me, help me or get out of the way social media haters.”

The source claimed: “Ruth honestly doesn’t talk about Eamonn, she’s really moved on from that part of her life. But of course, she does care about him, because they share a child and they were married for a long time.”

The source adds that, despite feeling ‘sad’ that her former partner is struggling, the presenter is also staying strong and focusing on herself: “She has seen that he is struggling, and it’s sad to see anyone in that situation. Of course, she fears for him and doesn’t want to think of Eamonn battling with his health – but she has to focus on herself and her own life now.”
