David Beckham and Victoria close in on King Charles as net worth soars to new heights

David and Victoria Beckham are now just £140million shy of King Charles III in terms of net worth, after a whirlwind 2024 saw their bank balance grow by a staggering total of at least £45m

David and Victoria Beckham are steadily approaching the same net worth as King Charles III. The Manchester United legend and his pop star wife, who have been married for almost a quarter of a century, saw their net worth rise by at least a staggering £45million between 2024 and 2025.

According to the Sunday Times Rich List, that takes their total up to the £500m mark. Meanwhile, King Charles, who took the throne following the passing of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, in September 2022, saw his own finances grow by £30m in the same time-frame.

His total worth now stands at £640m – the same amount as former Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and his wife, Akshata Murty.

Beckham, who turned 50 earlier this month, rose to fame and fortune thanks to an illustrious footballing career. The right-midfielder broke through the youth systems of Tottenham Hotspur and later Manchester United, before signing his first professional contract at Old Trafford in 1992.

After scoring 85 goals and providing 121 assists in 394 appearances, lifting six Premier League titles, four domestic trophies and a Champions League under the guidance of Sir Alex Ferguson, Beckham made the move to Real Madrid in a £25m move in 2003. After four years at the Bernabeu, Beckham spent the twilight years of his career with LA Galaxy, enjoyed loan stints with AC Milan, and wrapped things up with a year at PSG in 2013.

Internationally, the footballing sensation also represented his nation of England on 115 occasions, and will go down in the history books as one of the greatest talents to ever represent the Three Lions. However, Beckham has also made a fortune away from the pitch, through a number of different arenas, having built up his celebrity status from his playing days. Meanwhile, his relationship with Spice Girl Victoria Adams also saw him quickly gain mainstream media attention.

In 2021, Beckham secured a 10-year contract as Qatar’s tourism ambassador, a role that he is reportedly paid £11m annually for. Meanwhile, in 2014, it was announced that Beckham had exercised the option to buy a Major League Soccer expansion team for £18m, which later became Inter Miami CF.

The club made its MLS debut in March 2020. Elsewhere, earlier this month, Beckham and former Manchester United team-mate Gary Neville acquired the ownership of Salford City, alongside Declan Kelly and Lord Mervyn Davies.

Speaking on the move, he said: “I grew up in Salford… I have such fond memories of my time living there and the place and its people played such an important part in my early life in football. Salford City is at the heart of its community… it has a rich history and I am delighted to be a part of the next chapter.”

On top of all that, Beckham’s personal brand empire, DRJB Holdings, has certainly earned him a fortune over time.

Meanwhile, Victoria made a name for herself as part of the 1990s pop group the Spice Girls – who have sold more than 100m records worldwide and are still the best-selling girl group of all time.

However, Victoria also branched off into the world of fashion after finding fame in the music industry, launching her own label, VB, in September 2008. She also launched the Victoria Beckham Beauty brand in September 2019.

King Charles III still sits £140m better off than the Beckhams, however, largely thanks to his Sandringham and Balmoral estates. Meanwhile, managing the Duchy of Cornwall – a private estate established almost 700 years ago to provide financial assistance to the heir of the throne – is also thought to have helped boost his finances dramatically.

This, of course, pales when compared to the total net worth of the Royal Family, which was estimated to have been at around £22billion in 2021, and is made up of a number of avenues including the Crown Estate.
