Danny Jones has shared a rare update on social media, two months after his scandalous BRIT Awards kiss with I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! co-star, Maura Higgins. McFly star Danny, 38, took to Instagram over the Bank Holiday weekend to share a number of snaps of himself and his bandmates performing to huge crowds in Swansea.

Alongside photos of him psyching up the huge crowds in Wales, Danny wrote: “Back with my people. Thank you Swansea.” Danny has been laying low over the past couple of months following his controversial kiss with former Love Island star, Maura, 34.

The controversy hit the headlines when footage purportedly showed Danny and Maura locking lips at the Universal Music afterparty on Saturday, March 1, following the glitz of the BRIT Awards.

The duo became the centre of attention at the Universal Music bash at 180 The Strand as they were caught up in an intimate moment. Eyewitnesses saw Danny land a swift kiss on Maura before going in for a more passionate kiss.

Later in the evening, it is claimed that Danny and Maura took their bubbling chemistry to the swanky Nobu Hotel in Central London, where they supposedly indulged in wine until the break of dawn, eventually departing around 6am.

While speculation has been rife about the state of his marriage to Georgia, sources have told how Danny and Georgia are very much still together and working through the drama. “They are clearly looking to put things behind them, and move on with their lives. It really hasn’t been a good time at all but they are very much together,” a source told the Mirror.

Though he’s posted about the issue on social media, neither Danny nor Maura have explicitly delved into the details surrounding the incident. However, in March, via an Instagram post, Danny issued an apology directed at his wife, Georgia Jones, and his family – including his seven-year-old son Cooper – vowing to manage the matter away from the public eye.

He penned a heartfelt statement: “Hello everyone, sorry it’s taken me a while to post this but I’ve taken some time out to be with those closest to me. I want to deeply apologise to my wife and family for putting them in this situation. I love them so much and we’ll continue to deal with this privately.”

In the same breath, he expressed gratitude to his fans, stating, “I love you guys, thank you for your patience, understanding, and support. See you all soon, Danny.”
