Danny Beard’s savage dig at Chris Hughes as he explains ‘game player’ comment

Danny Beard didn’t hold back as he took a swipe at Chris Hughes over his friendship with JoJo Siwa during Celebrity Big Brother: Late and Live. The iconic Drag Queen came in second place on Friday night’s final, with Jack P Shepherd being announced as the winner.

After the main show, fans tuned into ITV2 to get the 411 on everything that happened in the house. Chris and JoJo have been grilled non-stop about their friendship since leaving the house a few hours ago, and the former even hit out at ‘game player’ accusations.

Ella Rae Wise has been suspicious over Chris’ relationship with JoJo, with her feeling more conflicted after Daley Thompson said someone was playing a game. During her exit interview, she claimed Chris could “benefit” from his friendship with JoJo.

He said to the hosts and the audience after coming in sixth place: “Why would I not want to get on with people when I’m in the house and everyone will naturally bond with somebody so if I want to spend time with someone who makes me feel like I’m at home, makes me feel happy, makes me forget that I’m filming at TV show.

On Late and Live, they were grilled again and fan-favourite Danny made a shock comment about Chris’ intentions with JoJo. Danny yelled out: “You wanted more Instagram followers,” before host AJ Odudu said: “He’s joking.” Brushing it off, Chris joked: “I could do with a few more.”

Chris and JoJo have a special friendship and, like Marmite, fans either loved them or hated them. Over the last three weeks, viewers watched as the pair cuddled in bed, danced, gave each other massages, embraced in the hot tub and were glued to each other’s sides.

On Friday’s final, it was announced Chris, 32, came in sixth place and he was immediately grilled about his close friendship with JoJo, 21.

During his interview, Chris told AJ Odudu and Will Best : “JoJo was like a pure rock to me. She was someone that I could have fun with. That to me was a beautiful friendship.

“She said to me last night you’re someone in my life I didn’t know I needed,” Chris then broke down in tears as he said: “she reminded me a lot of….”

“The thing that fascinates me the most about her is not the things she’s done, it’s what she’s been through when she was a teenager and that’s similar to what my ex-girlfriend went through.

“Seeing how they are both similarly as… in the respect that she’s come through a lot and she’s just a purely nice person. The similarity is in the personality. How nice they are, how loving they are and how caring they are.

“From a friendship point of view, of course I love her,” Chris said of JoJo.

JoJo was soon voted out of the house and walked out in third place, much to the shock of fans at home. Speaking to AJ and Will, she opened up about her bond with Chris and revealed they have plans to play tennis on Sunday.

She said she “absolutely loved and adored Chris” and that he would be in her life forever now. “He’s helped me create my happiness in this house, he’s more than a friend, we had a lot of fun.”
