Danielle Lloyd weeps as she issues update on ‘heartbreaking’ cancer battle: ‘All I’ve done is cry’

Danielle announced her diagnosis in February

Former glamour model Danielle Lloyd has shared an emotional update following her cancer diagnosis.

In February, the former Celebrity Big Brother star revealed she had skin cancer after she underwent surgery to get a mole removed in December.

Danielle, 41, then had to have another operation in February to remove the surrounding tissue to check if the cancer had spread. After waiting eight long weeks for an update, she received the all clear.

However, she was told there was a mistake made, which resulted in Danielle reaching breaking point.

Danielle Lloyd’s emotional update following cancer diagnosis

In an exclusive interview with The Sun, Danielle revealed that the day after she had been given the all clear, she received a phone call explaining that there had been an error made.

“They said they hadn’t had all the results back and I would have to wait longer,” Danielle said.

She insisted she was a “mess”, adding: “It was so scary and I was also really angry. I just felt like screaming. All I’ve done for the past few months is cry.”

However, after worrying relentlessly, she was finally told she no longer had cancer. “I just burst into tears, then just got on the phone to everyone – my parents, Michael, my friends – to tell them the good news,” she said.

Danielle was relieved that “it was finally over” and that she could “get on with my life”.

‘It’s been horrendous’

Over the past few months, Danielle said it’s “been horrendous” for her and her family.

“Being a mum, I was trying to put a brave face on for everyone, but inside I’ve been crumbling. I was worried every single day that I was going to die,” she continued.

As she broke down in tears, Danielle explained how hard it was to look at her kids and worry “that I wouldn’t be there for them”.

She credited her husband, former footballer Michael O’Neil, for being her rock through the hard time.

Danielle has sons Archie, 14, George, 13, and Harry, 11, with her footballer ex-husband, Jamie O’Hara. She and Michael have since started a family of their own, sharing Ronnie, seven, and three-year-old Autumn Rose.
