Stephanie Davis has opened up on the horror moment she discovered her baby wasn’t breathing. The Coronation Street actress, 32, tried to hold back tears as she revealed how her three-month old son stopped breathing for a second time.

She welcomed her baby Samuel in January but experience the scary ordeal last month. When her baby was just two-months old, Stephanie shared how he faced a “scary episode” that meant he needed to be hospitalised. This week, Stephanie has shared the sad news that he has suffered another terrifying incident at three-months old. She revealed how she was at a café after a baby sensory class with Samuel when he suddenly stopped breathing.

Thankfully, Stephanie received the support of two women who were outside the café that worked at the hospital. They rushed to help the mum and called for an ambulance.

Stephanie spent the day at hospital as she said: “We were just having a nice day and then all of a sudden he’s foaming from the mouth with loads of saliva. You lose your head as a mum, it’s honestly torture.”

She added: “Poor baby has had two lumber punctures and all sorts done to him to get to the bottom of it all. It’s been a dead upsetting time. I’m trying not to cry again because I’ve just been crying.

“On top of that, when he’s in his pram, he doesn’t like the wind in his face. When the wind is in his face, he starts to blow bubbles and hold his breath. It makes me panic.

“I’m anxious because of what happened yesterday and recently with him with his reflux and I’m hoping it doesn’t turn into an episode.

“It’s just dead upsetting and worrying. I’m just praying he takes a breath and then worrying that next time he won’t clear it.” Stephanie became emotional as she spoke.

She continued: “He’s under the hospital again and we are going back to see them. They’ve told me to film him next time but I’ve said that’s the last thing on my mind at the time. I’m trying to get him to breathe.”

Just last month, Stephanie detailed her scary experience of rushing Samuel to hospital for the first time. The actress, who thanked the hospital staff, shared a black-and-white photo of her baby’s hand placed on her hand as she said he suffered a ‘scary episode’.

Sharing an update with fans, she also shared a picture of the baby cot sitting in the hospital room as she sat in the corner of the room.

Stephanie wrote: “I just want to say a massive thank you to Whiston hospital, the staff on the high dependency unit and the staff on the ward for looking after our baby boy and @bectommo_x for helping me take him to the hospital and keeping me as calm as she could after what’s been the scariest time of my life.

“On Monday Samuel stopped breathing and had 3 scary episodes. I’ve felt totally helpless & powerless the past few days. He’s endured 2 lumber punctures which unfortunately didn’t work & had a bloody tap, a head scan, lung scan & I can’t count how many Canulas he’s had to have put in and out plus the rest.

“He’s had the full works and every antibiotic to make sure he’s ok.” A lumbar puncture is when a thin needle is inserted into the lower back to collect and test cerebrospinal fluid (CSF).

The actress added it was an “absolutely horrendous and traumatic time” for her as she admitted to feeling ‘powerless’ as she watched him in pain while doctors worked.

Stephanie and her partner, Joe McKalroy, welcomed their newborn in January. Stephanie is already a parent to son Caben, eight, from a previous relationship.
