Coleen Nolan bursts into tears on Loose Women ‘It’s the worst day of my life’

Coleen Nolan has been left in floods of tears as ITV’s Loose Women surprised her with a cameo from her three kids as the ITV chat show celebrated her 60th birthday

Coleen Nolan has burst into tears during today’s episode of Loose Women, after being surprised by her kids on the ITV show.

The TV personality turns 60 on Wednesday, however her fellow co-stars celebrated her milestone birthday today by sneaking her three kids into the studio audience. However, Coleen shared how it had been the “worst day of [her] life” up until that point, having been kept in her dressing room all morning and blindfolded.

Today’s episode saw a blindfolded Coleen led onto the Loose Women studio floor, where she was surprised by her sons Jake Roche, Shane Nolan and Ciara Fensome. Coleen revealed that it was the first time that all her kids had been in the Loose Women studio together.

“Oh my God!” Coleen said through tears as she hugged her kids. “Is this why I’ve been kept prisoner all day? So far, I’ve had the worst day of my life. They literally locked me in the dressing room. ‘Can I go to the toilet?’ ‘No.'” When asked whether it was a surprise, she said: “Was it a genuine surprise? Are you mad? No, I always cry like this.”

Meanwhile, Strictly Come Dancing’s Pete Wicks – who took part in the Real Full Monty with Coleen – sent in a birthday message via video. “Just a quick message to say happy birthday Coleen – I hope you have a fabulous day,” he said. “Who’d have thought a couple of years ago when you saw me naked, we would become such great friends? I hope you the best day, my love. I hope to see you soon.” After the video played, Coleen said: “We genuinely became best friends from that.”

During today’s episode of Loose Women, Coleen and Maureen Nolan, 70, were emotional talking about their family following the loss of their late sister Linda Nolan, who, aged 65, passed away two months ago after having previously been diagnosed with cancer. Asked the importance of being together after a difficult few months, Maureen said: “Absolutely everything, yeah.”

Coleen said in the scene: “I think it’s made us appreciate that we need to make more of an effort, really, to be together.” Maureen said: “That’s what it’s all about now more than anything.” Emotional Coleen added: “Yeah, it’s been hard.”

Earlier this week, a source close to Coleen exclusively told The Mirror that the Loose Women star will be putting on a brave face for her birthday after the tragic passing of her older sister Linda. The source said: “This is a milestone birthday for Coleen, but she is still, of course, going to be thinking about her sister.”

They added by telling us that the special occasion would be “bittersweet” for Coleen. The source said: “Coleen is still very, very sad about losing Linda, so it’s a very bittersweet moment. It’s heart-breaking that Linda won’t be there.”

At the weekend, Coleen paid tribute to Linda on International Women’s Day, writing on Instagram: “Happy International Women’s Day to all the amazing women in my life and to every other woman! Here’s to lifting each other up and celebrating our power.”
