Charlene White walks off Loose Women set and declares ‘it’s a daytime show’

Loose Women star Charlene White declared ‘it’s a daytime show’ as she walked off set after co-star Brenda Edwards’ rude comment that left viewers giggling

Loose Women’s Charlene White was left stunned after a rude comment on the show left her walking off declaring “it’s a daytime show”.

The ITV show descended into chaos on Tuesday as Charlene, Coleen Nolan, Brenda Edwards and Kelle Bryan discussed a study. It found people who listen to heavy metal have more partners than any other genre of music, and sparked a lively debate.

Each panellist shared what music they loved, as Kelle said Björk’s Play Dead was one of her favourite tracks. Brenda shared Black Sabbath’s Paranoid was one of her favourites, which promoted Charlene to ask if the study was correct.

Singer Brenda replied: “Not for me, personally.” But added she was “in her element” when she was able to work with mentor Sharon Osbourne’s husband Ozzy back in 2005 on The X Factor.

Brenda confesses she was starstruck “seeing him in a show other than in Wembley”. Coleen then asked if playing heavy metal would be a turn on for her.

She simply replied: “You’d speed up innit!”. The remark made Charlene walk away from the table while the audience howled with laughter.

The I’m A Celebrity star eventually returned to her seat and told her co-stars: “Since this is a daytime show, I am going to move swiftly on.”

The comment had viewers at home giggling too as one said: “Brenda… I was laughing for a good 10 minutes OH MY GOD.” Another added: “Omg Brenda just made my day never laughed so much . # loose women.”

“Just love Brenda on #loosewomen,” wrote someone else. It comes after former Loose Women presenter Saira Khan criticised the show, claiming Stacey Solomon was the only panelist allowed to be the ‘fun one’.The Apprentice star, 53, quit the programme in 2020 after five years, saying she had to “tolerate” some of her co-stars. Speaking about her experience on the panel, Saira accused ITV bosses of ‘siloing’ her, saying: “On Loose Women you saw me being quite passionate, heated and feisty, but that’s the silo they put me in.

“I wanted to have a bit of fun, but that wasn’t for me, that was for Stacey Solomon. Stacey was the fun one, but I had to be the loud, gobby one,” reports Closer magazine.

When she quit the show, the mum-of-two claimed the culture of Loose Women encouraged the presenters to argue, which made her “into a bitchy person I don’t want to be”. Saira added: “I started to realise they just wanted me to tick the box of ‘gobby Muslim woman’.”

Responding to Saira’s claims at the time, ITV said: “We strongly refute all of these claims. Duty of care is of paramount importance for all of our panellists. Saira left the panel almost two years ago and we wish her well.”
