What made David Beckham go from opposing to supporting Brooklyn’s career as a chef?

David Beckham has teased his son Brooklyn Beckham over his latest cooking social media video. He teased him saying: “Love it, is it as good as dads?”

Their cooking banter captured their close bond but it’s no secret the famous offspring was inspired by his dad’s passion for food.

Father like son, they both love food. In his latest Instagram, the younger Beckham served up a sizzling cooking tutorial on how to cook short rib ragu on with his followers

– sparking his dad’s cheeky comment that got fans calling for a father-son cook off. We would love to see how their cooking competitions heat up in the kitchen.

Despite being cruelly mocked for his TV tutorial on how to make a sandwich, the eldest son of the Beckhams has embarked on a cooking career

and he has persisted with it after trying out a number of different careers including photography and modelling.

To date, the footballer’s son has had some fun-filled projects including working alongside UberEats. It’s fair to say that Beckham has now firmly found his feet in the food circles after initially bonding with his dad over their shared love of cooking.

Cooking competitions

There’s nothing like a bit of healthy competition among families and we love that the father and son put their cooking skills to the test behind the scenes at home. As well as the competitions, the dad-of-four always loves to share his culinary knowledge with his eldest child.

Last year, Brooklyn Beckham was still trying to master his dad’s speciality spaghetti bolognaise. “I still need a few more lessons,” Beckham told Insider. “I don’t know what he does to it, but it’s just a little bit better than mine. When I see my dad, we always find ourselves having a little cooking competition.”

In fact, his love of cooking come from his dad’s passion for it. “Growing up, my dad has always loved being in the kitchen,” he told the publication. “And as a very young baby, I was lucky enough to travel with him to different places in the world and try different cuisines. I think my love for cooking and trying different cuisines definitely came from my dad.”

Beckham’s £50,000 BBQ tent

In Netflix’s docuseries BECKHAM, the retired footballer invited the world into his home and we got to see some of his hobbies outside of football and the spotlight. Beckham proudly showed off his BBQ tent. The jaw-dropping space designed by his friend Guy Ritchie’s company WildKitchen featuring a 12-seater table and a mouth-watering grill cost as much as £50,000, according to MailOnline.

Admittedly the kitchen, for the dad of four, is his escape. He told the cameras: “On Saturday morning I just potter around this place, it’s my escape. I’m in here from 11 to 9/10 o’clock at night, sometimes later, just grilling. That’s all I do, I bring my iPad, watch the football.”

In the docuseries, fans got a flavour for the manager’s cooking as he showed off his culinary skills including mastering a roast dinner while cooking his wife a separate meal of grilled fish. On camera, his son was caught checking out how his dad was doing too.

Victoria Beckham eats same food every day

It’s been great that the devoted dad has found someone else in his family to share his passion for food because unfortunately for him his wife only likes to eat the same meal every day. Plus, cooking has proved to be a great way for the father and son to bond.

“I get quite emotional about food and wine, when I’m eating something great I want everyone to try it,” Beckham said in 2022.

“Unfortunately I’m married to someone that has eaten the same thing for the last 25 years! Since I met Victoria, she only eats grilled fish, steamed vegetables.”
