Swedish model Elsa Hock is facing backlash over her ‘disrespectful’ costume after she transformed into Princess Diana for Halloween on Thursday.

The blonde beauty, 35, shocked fans when she posted a series of snaps to her Instagram page, embodying the late Royal who was tragically killed in a car crash in Paris on August 31, 1997.

Elsa donned a replica of the iconic ‘Revenge Dress’ that Diana wore on the night Prince Charles admitted to his affair with Camilla, now Queen consort.

At the time, the Princess wowed everyone in the Christina Stambolian black silk crepe cocktail gown with an asymmetric ruched bodice and side sash.

She teamed it with her sapphire, pearl, and diamond choker – which matched her engagement ring – and scarlet nails.

The model looked the spitting image of Diana in the photoshoot, even making sure the snaps were taken against a similar backdrop as she copied her walk.

She donned a similar bracelet to the one the Princess wore, finishing off the look with a pointy pair of black heels and a short blonde wig.

Elsa wrote in the captions of her posts: ‘Wishing you an ICONIC Halloween’ and ‘The people’s princess’.

However, some people have taken issue with the Halloween costume, dubbing it as ‘disrespectful’ and ‘horrible’.

Taking to X to reply to viral tweets about the images, unimpressed fans wrote: ‘It risks trivializing her legacy and the challenges she faced. Costumes should be fun, not a reminder of someone’s tragic life.’
