Strictly make Brooklyn Beckham their top target to join the BBC show this year

STRICTLY bosses have made Brooklyn Beckham their top target to appear on the BBC ballroom show this year.

Show casting chiefs feel that Brooklyn, 20, would appeal to a younger TV audience as well as attracting fans of his famous family.

And they are planning to launch a secret campaign to get the amateur photographer – eldest son of Victoria and David Beckham – on board.

Also appearing on the 30 name Strictly wish list is Lady Amelia Windsor – the model granddaughter of Prince Edward, The Duke of Kent.

And sources say Lady Amelia, who is 39th in succession to the throne, would help bosses to cash in on the wave of public interest in the Royals.

One said: “Brooklyn is the main target for casting chiefs at the moment, because he will appeal to his parents’ fans as well as his own.

“He has a young, cool image and they think that will win over new fans. Plus, they would love to get David and Victoria sitting in the front row.”

The source went on: “Every year the team look at what is dominating the national conversation before deciding who they want on board.

“Last year England’s lionesses did so well that they wanted a lioness, so they asked Alex Scott.

“This year, the Royals have dominated the headlines. So it’s no surprise that they have now decided to target a member of the Royal family.

“Lady Amelia is both stunning and very young, so she should appeal to a young market too.”

Last year’s series saw bosses chasing the 16-24 market by casting social media influencer Saffron Barker and kids’ TV star Karim Zeroual.

Viscountess Emma Thynn – the first lady to compete on the show – was also a big hit with fans.

The show was won by Kelvin Fletcher and Oti Mabuse after the soap star was drafted in at the last minute to replace crocked Jamie Laing.

The Made in Chelsea star was forced to pull out after injuring his foot in a group dance.

And following his exit fans called for him to be given a second chance in 2020.
