Perhaps David Beckham never expected that one day his beloved Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe would land him in such big trouble

Some were given to him by sponsors, while other cars were purchased.

Collectively, these cars are worth millions. And individually, this was the most expensive, a customized Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe.

And they also have stories. There’s a scene in the Netflix documentary about David Beckham that became a meme.

It’s possibly the most recognizable frame from the documentary, and it’s all about Victoria Beckham’s Rolls-Royce back when they didn’t know each other.

In this scene, Victoria Beckham is talking about her working-class upbringing, David overhears her from the other room and tells her to ‘be honest’ about it,

at which point Victoria admits her father had a Rolls-Royce.

Beckham did indeed come from a working-class family, but he can afford any car he wants now.

About David Beckham’s Rolls-Royce

Back when he bought it, a Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe such as this one would have set you back around $500,000.

But this one cost more because it was customized.

Finished in gloss black with contrasting beige leather interior, the Phantom Drophead uses a 6.75-liter V12, putting out 453 horsepower and 531 lb-ft of torque.

Despite weighing more than two tons, it still does 0 to 60 mph in just over 5 seconds, while the top speed is limited to 155 mph – 250 km/h.

David Beckham’s car collection today

Now that he’s a brand ambassador for Maserati, Beckham mostly drives cars from the Italian brand.

He and Maserati teamed up for a limited-edition series, and he also co-designed the supercar he drives daily.

The supercar in question is actually relatively simple and understated.

It’s a black Maserati MC20, which is not exactly a cheap hooptie, but it is definitely a lot less conspicuous than the Rolls-Royce.
