ITV Emmerdale Amelia Spencer ‘to bring down Tom King’ as real plan ‘exposed’

Emmerdale: Lydia warns Amelia about Tom

The latest episode of Emmerdale may have teased Amelia Spencer will finally rumble villain Tom King, with a downfall on the cards.

Given actor James Chase has left the show, Tom has to leave at some point. Fans are hoping he will finally face justice for his abuse towards Belle Dingle, but some characters in the village believe Tom’s lies.

With Belle struggling to find the evidence to back up her accusations, smug Tom has been trying to make everyone believe Belle is lying about his abuse and that she’s having a breakdown.

One character supporting Tom over Belle is Amelia, with her and Tom becoming an item. Of course he’s only using her, and Belle’s sister-in-law Lydia Dingle could see right through this.

Amelia spoke with Lydia in the latest episode, after weeks of her slamming Belle and trying to prove Tom is innocent. Amelia had been keeping her young daughter Esther away from Lydia and husband Sam Dingle, Esther’s grandparents, amid the Belle and Tom feud.

But on Wednesday she decided to let them spend time with her, realising she shouldn’t be keeping them apart. Lydia took the moment to try and make Amelia see Tom was bad news and only using her to get at Belle.

But as she asked whether Tom knew about Amelia bringing Esther round, she defensively barked back: “This has got nothing to do with him.” She went on: “You’re wrong about him you know. He’s not some manipulative control freak, he’s thoughtful and kind.”

Lydia rubbished this claim though, claiming he was nice until “he gets what he wants”. Amelia then claimed that they were planning their future together and that Tom adored her.

Lydia shared her concern though, trying to make her see Tom was playing games. As Amelia called him “the perfect gentleman”, Lydia told her: “For now. Until the mask slips and the real Tom comes out, and then you realise you’ve been part of his nasty games, and I worry that you and Esther will be in too deep by then.”

Amelia looked angry by the comments, but there was also a look of realisation. Amelia appeared to be questioning if Lydia could be right about Tom, and whether she was making a big mistake.

So could Lydia finally get through to the teen, and is this the moment Amelia starts to question Tom’s true motives? Will she end up seeing through his tactics, and might she expose him?

It would certainly be a good twist if Amelia did turn on Tom and help Belle bring him down. Amelia actress Daisy Campbell hinted at this, telling The Mirror: “I want her to team up with Belle! I’m reading the scripts and I’m like, ‘Come on, you’ve got to pull through for Belle’. So hopefully we’ll see some of that.”
