David Beckham is a proud dog dad.

On Wednesday, the former professional soccer player, 48, took to his Instagram Story to share some cute clips of himself playing with the family’s fluffy cockapoo, Simba.

David whistled to the dog in one clip, as the pooch lay by his head and snuggled up to him. “Simba,” the star captioned the post with three orange hearts and a laughing face emoji.

“Simba? What is it?” David then said while trying to get the pup’s attention in the first video.

A further clip showed the dog by his head again, before lying down and resting his paws on his face. To finish off his sweet posts, David shared an adorable photo of Simba looking at the camera.

The Beckhams welcomed Simba into the family in June 2022. The pup joins their other dogs Fig, Sage, Olive and Logan.

Shortly after welcoming Simba, Victoria Beckham shared a cute post on Instagram to mark National Dog Day, showing David and their kids Harper, 12, and Romeo, 21, posing with the dog.

Among the Beckhams’ many pet posts over the years, David was seen attempting to teach the family’s dog, Fig, how to perform a high five back in a 2021 video.

In the video, a shirtless David knelt on the kitchen floor, telling Fig, “Give me your paw.” The English cocker spaniel obliged, earning a treat from the sportsman before pouncing up for more.

“All we do in lockdown is high five and eat #figLovesHighFives,” David wrote in the caption at the time.

As well as dog appreciation posts, David and Victoria also regularly share romantic snaps on social media. It’s been nearly 25 years since the couple tied the knot, and they’re still smitten with one another.

On Valentine’s Day, David posted a pic of the pair sharing a kiss by the sea at sunset and wrote, “Happy Valentines to an amazing wife, mummy & best friend. I love you.”

” … I mean ‘I just fancied her,’ ” he continued in the caption, quoting his own line about Victoria from his Netflix documentary series Beckham, released last year.
