David Beckham reveals the truth behind the cancellation of the Spice Girls’ tour (video)

David Beckham has shut down the long-awaited Spice Girls reunion tour once and for all, saying it is ‘unfortunately not happening’.

The football boss, 49, cited Victoria’s beauty and fashion business as the reason for the tour not happening.

Mel B has teased multiple times this year that the Spice Girls will reunite for one last hurrah, the last of which was in April.

The last time all five women – Victoria, 50, Mel B, 49, Mel C, 50, Emma, 48, and Geri, 50 – performed together was at the 2012 Olympics closing ceremony.

David, who graces the cover of the Emmy Extra Edition of VARIETY, said: ‘I know it’s what people want, but in all honesty, I think I was the most excited of anyone.’

Recalling Victoria’s 50th birthday, he said: ‘The fact that, obviously, we had all of the girls in one room.

‘All of the girls haven’t been on a stage together for over 15 years. So, to have them all there, to have them all up on stage, to have our youngest son playing guitar?’

David and Victoria share Brooklyn, 25, Romeo, 21, Cruz, 19, and Harper Seven, who is turning 13 in July.

Brooklyn is married to billionaire heiress Nicola Peltz Beckham, and Romeo is in an on-again, off-again relationship with Mia Regan.

In the interview, David shut down tour rumours firmly, saying: ‘Unfortunately, that’s not happening.

‘Victoria was so pleased to see the girls, and it was a massive part of her life, the girls, but obviously, all the girls have got their own things going on.

‘They will do certain things together at certain times. But Victoria’s full on with her beauty and fashion businesses. If anyone’s busier than me, it’s her.’

In the same VARIETY interview, David compared the brutal treatment his wife Victoria endured at his football games to the nasty comments Taylor Swift receives at Travis Kelce’s games.

Victoria previously revealed in her husband’s Beckham documentary she was left ‘hurt and embarrassed’ when she was taunted at husband David’s football games.

The fashion designer recalled the abuse she received as she spoke about dating the footballer after fans turned on him in the aftermath of the 1998 World Cup.

David was blamed for England’s defeat after lashing out at Diego Simeone, sparking a horrific campaign of hate and abuse from fans.

The star is the manager, president, and co-owner of Florida football club Inter Miami CF and is co-owner of Salford City.
The Spice Girls reunion tour may have been a dream for many fans, but unfortunately, David Beckham has confirmed that it is not happening. Despite Mel B teasing multiple times this year about a potential reunion, David cited Victoria’s busy schedule with her beauty and fashion businesses as the reason for the tour not coming to fruition. It seems that all five women – Victoria, Mel B, Mel C, Emma, and Geri – have their own individual projects keeping them occupied. The last time they all performed together was at the 2012 Olympics closing ceremony, a moment that David fondly remembers. As a father of four, David is proud to see his children growing up and making their mark in the world. Brooklyn is married to Nicola Peltz Beckham, while Romeo is navigating his own relationship with Mia Regan. Cruz and Harper are also finding their own paths, with Harper about to turn 13 in July. It seems that the Beckham family is always on the go, supporting each other in their endeavors. In a recent interview with VARIETY, David also addressed the challenges that Victoria faced when attending his football games. Similar to the criticism that Taylor Swift receives at Travis Kelce’s games, Victoria endured hurtful comments from fans. She even shared her feelings of embarrassment at the taunts she received during David’s matches. Despite the negativity, Victoria has continued to support David in his career as a manager, president, and co-owner of Inter Miami CF and co-owner of Salford City. While the Spice Girls reunion may not be happening anytime soon, fans can still enjoy the memories of their past performances. It’s evident that each member of the group has moved on to pursue their own passions, whether in music, fashion, or family life. And who knows, perhaps one day they will come together for a special reunion that will thrill fans once again. Stay tuned for more updates!
