David Beckham cheekily quips ‘bend it like Beckham’ as he proudly shows off his huge courgette while giving fans a glimpse of his homegrown vegetables

David Beckham was in a playful mood on Saturday as he made a cheeky quip about his vegetable while giving fans a glimpse of his garden.

Taking to Instagram, the green-fingered footballer, 49, happily showcased his collection of homegrown produce as he took a stroll around the extensive vegetable patches in his Cotswolds home.

At one point, the star held up a huge courgette, with David unable to resist commenting on its eyebrow-raising shape as he remarked: ‘Bend it like Beckham’, alongside a laughing emoji.

The star went on to share a snap of an equally large marrow as he joked to wife Victoria Beckham, 50, that he ‘can feel a soup coming tonight’.

As well as showing off his impressive cucurbits, David happily gave fans a look at the rest of the fruit of his labour during the tour.

He told how he also had ‘a lot of potatoes’ and planned to make crisps out of them.

Dressed in a green and blue plaid shirt and a Baker Boy cap, the sportsman the gave a look at berry area which he was ‘still working on’, as well as the growth of his sage and olives.

In addition to his fruit and vegetables, David also filmed glimpses of his chickens and hens as well as his beehives

Comparing himself to TV gardener Alan Titchmarsh, David said to the camera: ‘So, morning update from Mr Titchmarsh!’

Captioning his post, he also noted that his End End mates would no doubt rib him for ‘changing’ after he swapped his posts about motorbikes for gardening content.

He shared: ‘My Kale is doing well. I can hear my east end mates going “He has changed”  My wife said shorten the video down but obviously didn’t listen so I’m sorry…

‘My content used to be motorbike’s & camping now it’s Kale , Honey & flowers for the house, might have to get back on the road soon. @victoriabeckham you’re welcome for the flowers for the house.’

David added he was suffering from hay fever, but it certainly didn’t stop from continuing his outdoor occupations.

‘Not bad for my first try,’ he said.
