David Beckham admits he once contemplated infidelity due to his frustration with Victoria’s unreasonable control, but his children made him stop those corrupt thoughts (video)

David Beckham’s Netflix documentary was watched by millions across the world upon its release in 2023.

The four-part series focuses on the ex-footballer’s life, from his upbringing to relationship with wife Victoria.

The hit show tells the full story of David’s rise to fame, as well as Victoria’s, with many hilarious moments thrown in.

Fans loved Beckham and certain scenes even went viral on social media.

One hilarious clip saw Victoria, 50, claim her family were “working class” while growing up.

David quickly jumped in to correct her, informing viewers she was not in fact working class and her dad drove an expensive car.

David can be seen popping his head through the door to remind Victoria that she has to “be honest”. He points out that her father drove a Rolls-Royce., which at the time, would have been worth over £40,000. She eventually doubles down on her claim and tries to continue with her interview.

The hilarious moment went viral with memes created of David and Victoria. It even earned a spot in the shortlist for TV BAFTA’s ‘Memorable Moments’ category this year.

David has now revealed that the moment was completely unplanned and he’d actually annoyed director Fisher Stevens by jumping in to disturb Victoria’s interview. He sat down with filmmaker Fisher, producer Josh Battsek and editor Michael Harte at an Emmys For Your Consideration event at the Tudum Theatre in Los Angeles to discuss the documentary.

In a video shared online by The Hollywood Reporter, David explained that the film crew thought he had left the house when Victoria headed for a solo interview. However, he was “in the kitchen making a coffee”.

“I put the set headphones on and all of a sudden I heard my wife go, ‘Well, we’re down to earth’. And I was like, ‘No, no, no’. As soon as I heard her say ‘We’re working class’, I stuck my head in and I was like, ‘Be honest’,” he recalled.

The ex-footballer admitted that director Fisher was “very angry with me over that” at the time. Fisher, 60, went on to explain that he had scheduled the interview with Victoria because “David was supposedly out and she could be free to say what she wants”.

“And then he showed up and I was quite upset,” he continued. “I was like, ‘Get him out of here’ – but it actually turned out to be brilliant. It worked out. Thank God the cameraman caught David, and then Michael, I did say ‘I think we have some gold’.”
